Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this filter come with a case?

A: Yes, a storage case is included.

Q: 2. Is the Nikon 77mm Circular Polarizer II Filter made of Brass or Aluminum?

A: It is heavy enough I'm pretty sure it is brass. What ever metal it is harder than aluminum. Don't ever get aluminum as it is way too soft and eventually it will ding the thread so will be unusable unless you are into repairing threads with a very fine file and magnifying glasses, which I have also done.

Q: 3. How much stops of light does it reduce?

A: Unfortunately, a filter factor is not provided by Nikon for this CPL.

Q: 4. Would this be a good match for my tamron 150-600?

A: Absolutely! This is the price for the money you can have, the Nikon filters are fabulous ans you cant go wrong, also using mine with my Tamron 150-600 G2 and loving it.

Q: 5. Is this filter (Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II) multicoated?

A: I checked the Nikon manual for the filter and it is silent on multi-coating (generic filter foldout is provided). A competing website for B&H says that it is. Nikon's website is also silent. So I cannot say for sure. I am happy with the filter, the glass is exceptional using it on a new Nikon 200-500. Please note that it is exceptionally thin, spinning the CPL piece is easy while get it on and off the lens takes some care as I have big hands.

Q: 6. Will this fit a 24-120mm lens?

A: Yes, the current 24-120mm Nikon lenses uses 77mm filters so the Nikon Circular Polarizer II Filter (77mm) is the correct size.

Q: 7. Can this be used on a Fujifilm lens so long as it has a 52mm diameter?

A: Yes, any lens with 52mm filter threads will work with this filter.

Q: 8. When I use the filter and the lens hood can I still rotate the filter? Thats would be a good reason to buy Nikon over B&H

A: Depends on what lens hood you have, the deeper the lens hood the harder it is to get your finger in to turn. I usually set the filter to what polarization I prefer then attach the lens hood making sure I do not alter the filter.

Q: 9. Can I use auto focus with this filter?

A: Yes absolutely. However I had problems with the Nikon 95 Polarizeras the two polarizing elements of the filter separated as I unscrewed it from a Nikon 200-500 F 5.6 tele. The two elements of this thin Nikon polarizer are held together with a thin silver wire. I sent it back to Nikon and asked for a new replacement filter but Nikon declined and sent the polarizer back repaired. Fearing the same problem might reoccur, I replaced the Nikon Polarizer with a B&W 95 polarizer which seem much more substantial.

Q: 10. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.
