Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the book cover the latest firmware updates for the Z8 and Z9?

A: According to the publishers, the Rocky Nook David Busch's Nikon Z9/Z8 Guide to Digital Still Photography (Softcover) the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera (B&H # NIZ9) was at firmware version 4.10 and the Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera (B&H # NIZ8) at firmware version 1.01 when the book went to press. Since then, Nikon has issued three additional firmware updates for the Z9 and two for the Z8. Nikon offers Supplemental addendums that describe firmware changes, which is done for major updates. Readers can download these at the same time they download new firmware releases.

Q: 2. Is the damping (resistance) for tilt and/or swivel adjustable or locked?

A: completely adjustable.

Q: 3. How much weight can this hold? Would it be able to support 30 pounds or more?

A: This unit is rated for 11lbs.

Q: 4. How easy is it to go from a landscape position to a portrait position? Otherwise Can a ball head be attached to this to accomplish that?

A: Quite easy. My Nikon long lenses and most others allow the lens to stay fixed to the chest/shoulder pod support and with the release knob on the side of the lens the camera rotates 90 degrees back and forth to both positions. No ball head is needed.

Q: 5. Will this work with. Tamron 150-600mm mounted on a Nikon D7200? I shoot BIF and wildlife.

A: The usefulness of this device comes down to personal preference. In the movie business we called it doing whatever it takes to get the shot! From what I see of birders and my own shooting of wildlife, I would recommend you first try using the Tamron lens hand-held, particularly for BIF. If you find yourself tiring or you need to keep the lens to your eye for long periods (on a nest for example) then give this a try and it may be the answer for you.

Q: 6. How many 46 pockets are contained in a page?

A: There are 100 pockets for a 4x6" photo in the MCS 100-Page Friends Photo Album.

Q: 7. Can this be used in a sitting position, taking videos of fireworks?

A: Yes, the Novoflex Chestpod / Shoulder Pod can be used in a sitting position for taking videos of fireworks.

Q: 8. How many pages and the size of each page? Is ut printed two sided?

A: The Blue Crane Digital Guide: Quick Reference Guide for the Canon Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR Camera is 4 inches by 5 inches with foldable, laminated hinges allow the inBreif to lie flat in your camera bag . This reference guide is 8 pages, printed on both sides.

Q: 9. Would this guide work for most of the settngs for the a7R V?

A: No, the Rocky Nook David Busch's Sony a7R IV Guide to Digital Photography will not work for the settings on the Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera because the menu system has been upgraded.

Q: 10. I have a Nikon D300S and intend to use a portrait lens with the Novoplex Chrstpod. What else do I need to enable quick transition from landscape tp portrait positions. What compatible L-bracket, quick release, or other accessory should I use in conjunction w/ this equipment?

A: You can get the bracket and base shown in the Chestpod photos. Novoflex Q=Mount Arca-Type Manual-Locking Quick Release Adapter - Requires Plate B&H # NOQM and the Novoflex QPL-Vertikal L-Shaped Quick Release Plate for Q=Base System B&H # NOQPLV.

I Love it. It works really well. I did not use the original at all so I can't compare but the replacement is really easy to keep nice and clean.
