The 512GB SF-M Tough Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from Sony features a storage capacity of 512GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support advanced DSLR functions such as continuous shutter bursts and rapid shooting, as well as raw and JPEG captures. This card is also well-suited for video capture, including 4K, Full HD, and 3D video. It can achieve maximum read speeds of up to 277 MB/s and maximum write speeds of up to 150 MB/s. Thanks to its V60 speed class rating, minimum write speeds are guaranteed not to drop below 60 MB/s.

To help facilitate card usage in almost any environment, as well as keeping your content safe, Sony has built the Tough Series with a rugged design that can withstand drops up to 16.4' / 5m, immersion in up to 16.4' / 5m of water for up to 72 hours, and is bend and dust proof, as well as able to withstand temperature extremes from -13 to 185°F. The Tough Series is also up to 18 times stronger than standard SD media (180N compared to 10N) and features a one-piece molded construction that is ribless with no write protect switch, helping to further guard against physical damage that can affect SD cards, such as a broken plastic casing, a broken data protection lock, and broken connector ribs. Should the card's data become compromised, you also benefit from the option to download File Rescue software for free to help recover deleted content.

UHS-II media achieves its speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V60 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V60. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantees minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s. When used in a UHS-I device, this card delivers read speeds of up to 95 MB/s and write speeds of up to 90 MB/s.

When you're shooting in challenging environments, this card will deliver for a wide range of professional photographers and videographers, as well as photo enthusiasts, since they're rugged enough for extreme shoots. With rock solid reliability and fast speeds, you have all the performance you need to catch the action.

A strong resin-molded design makes this cards 18 times more resistant to bending than the SD standard.

This card can be immersed in 16.4' of water for up to 72 hours, and is also dustproof. That's total protection for shooting in almost any condition.

Made from rock-solid materials in a one-piece mold, this card withstands drops of up to 16.4'

With a one-piece molded design and high-durability materials, this card gives professionals and photo enthusiasts peace of mind and protection wherever their shoots take them.

In designing this card, Sony got rid of the fragile connector ribs and write-protect switch found on conventional SD cards - parts which are easy to break and can prevent writing.

Whether you're a professional photographer shooting high-resolution still images, a videographer working in 4K on a documentary, or a photo enthusiast exploring remote landscapes, this card has the speed you need to capture the action. It provides fast buffer clearing time after burst shooting and efficiently transfers content to a computer.

With fast write speeds of up to 150 MB/s, this card supports longer burst shooting of high-resolution photos, as well as faster buffer memory clearing.

Spend more time shooting and less time transferring or backing up. With fast read speeds up to 277 MB/s, you can quickly transfer large media files to a computer.

Sony's SF-M media supports the V60 Video Speed Class for stable 4K recordings and high-bitrate video capture. This is good for shooting all kinds of high-resolution video.

The downloadable SD Scan Utility automatically scans your SD card's memory, keeping you informed of its condition so you can take action before its limit is reached.

Even when things go wrong, you can avoid disaster with downloadable File Rescue software that recovers photo and video files that have been accidentally deleted or that cannot be played back.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is that work for gh5 / 4k 4-22 10 br?

A: Yes, it will work.

Q: 2. Sony cameras actually support up to 150mb/s. What about the Fujifilm GFX series? Is SF-M enough for them?

A: Yes, the FUJIFILM GFX 50S Medium Format Mirrorless Camera, the FUJIFILM GFX 50R Medium Format Mirrorless Camera, the FUJIFILM GFX 100 Medium Format Mirrorless Camera, and the FUJIFILM GFX 100S Medium Format Mirrorless Camera all support UHS-II memory cards and would support the use of the Sony 128GB SF-M Tough Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card for both still photo and video usage needs.

Q: 3. Could this card work in a Sony A7iii with mismatch cards (My SanDisk Extreme Pro 256 GB V30 and this Sony 256GB SF-M V60)?

A: Yes, this card would work despite mismatched video speed ratings.

Q: 4. How does it perform shooting 120p video?

A: It works well at 1080- 120p

Q: 5. What the issue with tight fit with sony 7rV?

A: Following the instructions there should be no problem installing the card on a Sony A7iV

Q: 6. Does this card work with a Sony FX6?

A: The Sony 512GB SF-M Tough Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card can be used with Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (Body Only); but since the card is only rated V60, many of the highest resolutions and frame rates would not be able to be recorded. A V90 rated card such as Sony 256GB SF-G TOUGH Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, BH #SOSFG256TT1 would be needed for the all the resolutions, frame rates and codecs available to record on an SD card. In order to record all resolutions and frame rates possible on the FX6, a CFexpress Type A card would be needed.

Q: 7. Is the Sony Tough M (which is a v60) enough for Canon R5c 4K HQ? Canon specs require 470Mbps which I believe translates to 58.75 MBps which is just barely at the card's v60 / 60MBps threshold *sustained* write speed. Does it work?

A: No, for 4k HQ you really should use a card that is V90. Or better to use a Cfexpress type B card.

Q: 8. will it be fast enough for Sony A9II?

A: The speed would not be a problem with the Sony a9 II.

Q: 9. Can they work with Canon EOS R camera..? Thanks

A: Yes, the Sony 64GB SF-M TOUGH UHS-II SDXC memory card works on the EOS R mirrorless camera.

Q: 10. DO these cards fit the Nikon Z7ii?

A: Yes, the Sony 128GB SF-M Tough Series UHS-II SDXC Memory Card will fit into one of the memory card ports on the Nikon Z7ii. The other port is for CFepxress type B cards.

I usually hate SD cards because they feel flimsy and I always feel that they may break. So, I decided to buy the Sony Tough cards to see if they were any good. They are expensive but as a working pro, I now feel confident that I would not damage these cards and cause any potential heartache. These cards feel great and they are Tough! Highly recommended.

I've had to throw out a more than a few Sandisk and PNY SD cards after they delaminated, fell apart or would no longer settle into the card slot. This Sony Tough 64GB SD card works very well for still photography, for me. I have 5 of these cards and they have not failed me. As an event photographer the solid construction of these cards has me believing in them. They are also reasonably priced. The Sony Tough cards are it.

I switched to Sony tough cards a few years ago after another brand's plastic card completely fell apart. Most of my cards are 64gb for photography. I purchased these for long wedding days recording 4K 24/60 10 bit video. Works perfectly, about 2hrs 38mins of 4K 60, and around 5hrs @ 24 on the Sony a1.
