The P-424FS 5-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod with VA-5 Compact Video Head from Sirui is a versatile, feature-laden carbon fiber monopod with a load capacity of 6.6 pounds and a maximum height of 66.3 inches. The monopod extends and folds quickly thanks to the ergonomic flip-lock joints. The head plate incorporates a quick release collar to easily remove and store a mounted camera or tripod head, and it features a reversible 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 mounting stud.

The base of the monopod incorporates a tripod foot base for added stability, which features a locking ball joint with a tilt range of up to 36° and rubber-tipped feet for added traction. The quick release mounting plate can be attached directly to the tripod foot base to form a mini tripod for macro photography or tabletop use.

The included VA-5 ultra-compact video head uses a fluid system to produce smooth pans and tilt movements for DSLRs and compact video cameras weighing up to 6.6 lb. It features an independent pan locking knob and uses an internal spring-assisted counterbalance mechanism for smoother tilt movements with heavier cameras. It includes an Arca-type quick release plate.

I'm 6' and this monopod is even a bit too tall when i use it in conjunction with Sirui L-20S 2-Way Pan/Tilt Head. Super combination! Collapsed it is very small and fits in messenger style bag. I haven't found better monopod (for any price) than this one. 5

I got the Sirui to replace another carbon fiber monopod that was much more expensive, but I prefer this one now. First, the price is great for a true CF monopod. The fact that this one collapses down to under 16 inches, but expands to 61 in amazing!. It supports heavier equipment, but weighs less than a pound. The reversible screw works well for tilt/swivel heads or attaching a camera directly. The rubber food with the extending spike works well for me as does the comfortable foam grip and large head plate. I use the monopod as much for a hiking stick as a camera support. The only very minor gripe I have is that the hand strap can't be adjusted. That's OK as it still works for me. I'm very happy with this choice! 5

Feather light, but strong enough to be used as a walking stick. Perfect for stabilizing lenses as long as 600mm! 5

I have a heavy one too a Manfroto but this is my walking stick monopod. One thing I like about it though is it's compactness also makes it easy to stow in my bad when I don't want to carry it. Along with an L-10 Monopod Head it works great. A lot of times what I'm using on it is my Fuji X100F. It just provides for bit of stability in a camera that does't have IBIS. You can also use it with a heavier camera if that's what you hike or walk with. Just give it a bit more of a solid foundation. With my D850 with battery grip I do have the heavier monopod because I might tend to use that more for say a model shoot or a portrait session. I use this one more when I'm out with a buddy hiking around with a smaller camera. It costs a little more than the aluminum variant but I think it's worth it for something you'll use a long time. It was a worthy investment. 5
