The 77mm, 780nm Infrared Lens Filter from Kolari Vision blocks visible light up to 780nm from the light spectrum. It features uncoated glass in an aluminum ring with 77mm threading on both sides.

Unlike the 550/590/665nm versions of this Kolari filter, this 780nm version does not require a full spectrum modification to be made to your camera, but only as long as you use the camera mounted on a tripod and set it to shoot long exposures. Otherwise, a full spectrum modification is required. That entails removing the camera's low-pass filter and replacing it with a clear filter. Once that's done, this 780nm filter will work as intended. (Kolari Vision can make the modification for you at a cost if you send in your camera to them.)

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the outer diameter of this hood? Will it accept a 80mm lens cap?

A: No, this would take a 77mm lens cap that would click into the front of the ring, not the rubber part.

Q: 2. Will This fit24-120mm f1.4g?

A: According to Nikon's own website, yes it will.

Q: 3. What lens cap replacement for DX 10-24 mm lens?

A: Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED Lens has a front thread of 77mm, therefore you can attach this cap in front of your lens.

Q: 4. Does the 77mm lens fit the Nikkor 18-300 mm lens?

A: It depends, Nikon made 2 lenses, 1 took a 67mm and the other took a 77mm. Look in the barrel of the lens, there should be a number next to a circle with a diagonal line through it, that is the filter size.

Q: 5. Does it accept filters ?

A: The interior of the lens hood contains a filter thread for 77mm lens filters.

Q: 6. What Is there a version to fit a larger 150-600mm lens with a 95mm filter size?

A: Heliopan makes 95mm rubber lens hood Heliopan 95mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood BH #HELHR95

Q: 7. would like to verify that this will fit the AF-S Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8G? Thanks

A: Yes, the Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap will fit the Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G lens.

Q: 8. will this fit Nikon 18-200 lens?

A: As a rule of thumb, the 77mm diameter is used in most Nikon lenses that are a fixed F2.8 aperture. If you have the lens, the size is printed on the barrel somewhere, usually near the glass or by the lens name on the barrel. Otherwise, look at the specs for the lens. It always has this diameter listed. Some F2.8 lenses are exceptions to this size: 105mm F2.8, 60mm F2.8 come to mind. But many of the pro-level Nikon lenses share the 77mm size, which is convenient for both the lens caps and filters. And this comment applies to zooms as well as fixed focal lengths, 17-35 F2.8, 28-70 F2.8, 70-200 F2.8, 12-24 F2.8 DX.

Q: 9. Where are these manufactured ?

A: The ZEISS 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter is manufactured in Japan.

Q: 10. I'm thinking in buying this CPL for my Zeiss Batis 2/25 - Is it hard to clean or take care? i do street photography in New York City - would a CPL be useful for the type of photos i capture? -Thanks!

A: The ZEISS filters are the best and with any filter requires care like your camera equipment so always use a microfiber cloth with bottled water prior to you shoot. You can always remove dust during processing in PS. Use this filter for shooting water and glass to remove reflections and it will bring out all colors but you can get the deep colors in processing. ZEISS optics are the best. When you use this filter you need to adjust it to the darkest point or your colors will not come out.
