At the center of Gossen's certification light metering system is the MAVOMASTER, a compact, all-in-one control and display unit that generates and stores lighting measurements when used with any MAVOPROBE. The MAVOMASTER interprets MAVOPROBE readings in both absolute and relative values, calculates derivative values, and charts these values over time to provide the user with an in-depth understanding of any lighting environment.

The unit takes one AA battery and has 8GB of internal storage that functions as an external drive when connected to a PC via USB and used with MAVOSOFT software for Microsoft Windows. Only one MAVOPROBE can be connected to a MAVOMASTER at a time.

Q: 3. I have an old Gossen Digital Luna Pro. Great meter over-all. The only problem-The white incident/reflective sliding dome over time does not stay locked in place. I know other people who have experienced the same problem...Does anyone knowif this problem has been resolved on the new Gossen Sixtomat F2 Light Meter? Pete 8/9/2015

A: I've just bought the Gossen Sixtomat F2 and have had it just over a month. As far as I can see there is no problem with regards to not staying locked although who knows what might eventuate over time. The reason I bought the Gossen is because of its reputation and it is a very good piece of equipment to help the photographer.

Q: 4. Are there any differences between this Digisix 2 and the older Gossen Digisix?

A: There are not any major differences, they basically upgraded the first a bit. From Gossen: This meter expands the measuring functions of manually adjustable cameras to include incident light measurement, by means of which better exposure can be achieved for unusual subject contrast. Integrated contrast measurement also indicates whether or not subject contrast, i.e. the difference between the brightest and darkest part of the subject, can be managed by the sensor or the film .

Q: 5. is there a provision for wireless connection to flashes ?

A: This meter can read strobe lights without connecting them directly with a PC cord with its noncord function but the meter can not wirelessly trigger flashes. If you need the meter to trigger the lights you will need to connect a sync cable to the side of the meter via the PC connection.

Q: 6. Does this light meter have a shutter speed value of 1/200 and 1/160 that you can select in the shutter priority? I shoot with a Canon camera and wanted to make sure these values are used in the light meter settings.

A: The Gossen Sixtomat F2 Exposure Meter has shutter values of 1/8000 s to 60 min. It includes 1/200 and 1/160 among them.

Q: 7. Does this adaptor also convert the voltage to 1.35v?

A: The Gossen Battery Adapter Set does not convert voltage. It does list that it uses 2 batteries at 1.35 volts.

Q: 8. Can you tell me the difference between the Sixtomat F2 and the Digipro F2?

A: The, Sixtomat F2 is 118 mm x 65 mm x 19 mm / 4.65 x 2.56 x 0.75 inch and the Gossen DigiPro F2 Flash and Ambient Light Meter v2 is 150 mm x 65 mm x 19 mm 5.91 x 2.56 x 0.75 inch. The Sixtomat F2 is 95 g / 0.21 lbs without battery and the Digipro is 100 g / 0.22 lbs without battery. Other wise the are about the same.

Q: 9. Can Gossen MAVOSPEC measures flash light?

A: Hi,The Mavospec cannot measure flash light in a proper way, due to the long integration time. However it's capable of providing spectral data for the flash light.Normally when measuring flash light, the aim is to set a proper exposure for the cameras. For this, the Mavospec is useless. For this purpose, use e. g. a Seconic exposure meter.Tore
