Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you have stock for 2 unit of Metro datavac / 3ESD1 with input power 220 Volt, not the 120 Volt? Thank you.

A: B&H currently does not carry a 220v version of this item.

Q: 2. How loud is this model?

A: There are no hard specifications regarding decibel level. As expected, it emits a fairly loud high-pitched whine while operating.

Q: 3. Can you access the zoom on your lens, or do you do that through the fabric? Same with the shutter release?

A: The zoom is not accessible without opening the velcro on the bottom, however, the fabric is loose enough to twist it from the outside. The back can be left open, so the shutter release is not an issue. The rain cover is large enough for most lenses to leave the back open and let the cover hang over the back without having to pull the back closed.

Q: 4. What type of filter bags for this model?

A: The DV-5PBRP is the replacement filter bags.

Q: 5. What is the length of the power cord?

A: Power Cord: 12 ft., heavy-duty, 3-conductor

Q: 6. How does this Ruggard Rain shield large, compare with the Think Tank Emergency Rain cover large?

Q: 7. Do you sell the caster set?

A: The Kendall Howard Advanced Classroom Training Table (60" Wide x 24" Deep, Folkstone), B&H # KE6024TTFS, caster set is the Kendall Howard Training Table Locking Caster Kit (B&H # KETTLCK).

Q: 8. Would any of these Ruggard Rain Shields work with a Sony PXW-X70 camcorder? I've looked at the listed accessories on the X70 page but aren't crazy about any of them (too expensive). Thanks.

A: Though it isn't necessarily made for the Sony PXW-X70, it will cover it and it will work to protect it when shooting in the rain.

Q: 9. Can I install this inside a Gator rack case 10 ru with power to hold a tricaster mini x?

A: The Kendall Howard Adjustable CPU Holder is meant to be used under a desk that can support the weight of a computer. I wouldn't recommend using it in a rack case.

Q: 10. Can I use a flash unit while using the product on a canon eos 7d camera

A: No you can not use a flash with this

I have the Canon R5 and RF 100-500mm lens. I originally bought the Ruggard small rain shield, but that was too small for this combination. The medium seems to be the right size. I've already used it in the field and it kept my equipment dry, so it did what it was supposed to do.

I ordered the Ruggard large rain shield for a Nikon D500 camera with a Tamron 150-600mm lens combination. The combo measured 21 in length with the lens fully extended and lens hood attached. I was able to easily and quickly fit the rain shield over the camera and lens that was mounted on a tripod and gimbal head. The front bungee-cord adjusted snuggly around the lens hood, and there was a couple of inches overhang on the back to keep the rear of the camera protected and allow access to the camera controls. I like that the rear opening also has a bungee-cord that can be adjusted. The bottom of the rain shield has a long velcroed opening to accomodate most any tripod rig or allow for adjustment of a zoom lens. And the velcroed opening can be completely or partally closed. Ruggard describes the material as water resistant. Although I have not used this in the rain, I did run water over it. The water ran right off and any water that didn't, just beaded up. Not sure how heavy the rain would have to be to soak it, but I'm confident this will protect my gear in anything that I'm willing to expose myself to. The carry pouch has a swivel clip, measures 4.5 x 7 x 1, and is made of the same material as the rain shield.

Nice, simple design and low price for a piece of necessary gear. Easy access to controls and you can really seal up your gear if it starts nuking out. Highly recommended.
