Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Without the glass dome on the B1, how much of the umbrella is lit by the B1?

A: All

Q: 2. How deep is this? Just wondering how it compares to the Profoto Deep Silver Umbrella (Extra Large, 65 ) B&H # PRUDXLS

A: it's great.

Q: 3. Does this come with its own carrying bag?

A: The umbrella in the FotodioX Pro Parabolic Umbrella with Diffusion Cover (72", White Reflective) comes with a storage bag.

Q: 4. How many stops of light does this diffuser reduce by?

A: The Godox DPU-165T offers roughly one stop of light loss on it.

Q: 5. Will this size work on a B2 head? Or does it need a different mount?

A: While it is a large umbrella and I would recommend using a sturdy stand (and sandbags if used outdoors in windy conditions), the Profoto Deep Silver Umbrella (Extra Large, 65 ) uses the standard 8mm umbrella shaft and would slide into the umbrella receptacle on the top of the Profoto B2 Off-Camera Flash.

Q: 6. Is the 65 measurement it's actual diameter, or rib length (over the curve)?

A: Mine measured from rod end to opposing rod end was 65 . I also have a Profoto Deep Silver Umbrella Large and the same distance was 51 . So, in my cases the measurements met with the specifications.

Q: 7. I wanted to return the product as the upper screw top have broken

Q: 10. Can I use with profoto HMI 800?

It feels very very sturdy when opening but a little scary to close, it can easily launch out of your hands if you don't have a good grip on the stick when you press the release button but otherwise it works as intended

This is my second Impact umbrella form this series. I also have the 41 inch version. They are used primarily as a soft source for video interviews, on Aputure COB lights.

While it's typical for folks to use Aputure's Lightdome umbrellas for diffusion, I prefer these for my use. They're cheaper, lighter weight and can be used with any continuous or strobe unit that has an umbrella receptacle ( rather than just a Bowens mount). They take just a wee bit longer to setup, but it's negligible imo.

I have ben running a 41 inch with the Angler Umbrella Diffuser cover until now. I added this to get more wrap and a larger coverage area. I'm pleased, it was a great add. I still have some ancient photo umbrellas sitting around, one of my strong dislikes was the flimsy construction. While this umbrella concept will not be as ultimately robust as the Aputure approach, they are a far cry from the umbrellas of yesteryear. These are beefy, with nice reassuring/ thick umbrella struts.

On location, setup is quick. Perfect for groups. I purchased two of these along with the Angler diffuser cover. With this setup and balancing with daylight, creates a soft even fill light. I've even used these with speedlights while shooting small groups and the combination of these portable umbrellas and speedlights,
makes shooting easy and fast.

This produces beautiful soft light over an area good for several subjects. It's fairly heavy, it feels like the spindle is too thin to hold the weight but I've had no problems so far.
Great value.

This wide deep umbrella has a nice solid build. Quality materials.

Outputs a nice soft light when paired with an optional diffuser. I purchased the 41" diffuser from Godox

I've only used this on one shoot, but so far, I'm impressed with the built quality, value for money, and the quality of light it produces. I look forward to using it again on future sessions.

I put a Jumbo Umbrella Diffuser Cover on it and it is the most beautiful light I can imagine. It's incredible how compact it is, closed.
