A: I've used these for all types of shoots including outdoor night shoots and yes, they are bright. The light level is variable and you can set it as you need it concerning the distance from your subject but they aren't high power spotlights. They're great for mid shots but for wide angle shots at night you'll need more than just two of these.I do love these lights though and they're an essential part of my travel rig.

A: Yes, the one's that I got when I bought this were 5 tall, but they do not come with the little rubber feet pads. We had to add those after. We were one of the early purchasers of this product, so it's possible it's changed since, but I just measured it and it's definitely 5 . Hope this helps.
