A: No, not in a remove it every day kind of way. It can be disassembled for cleaning or lube.

A: It is made of metal primarily. The fluid pan tilt head cannot be separated from the legs. I use it with a spotting scope that weights about 9 lbs. Has been used in windy conditions on uneven and/or soft terrain, and it has proven to be stable and sturdy.

Q: 9. I need the Quick Release Plate for the older (M3) version of this tripod. Do you sell the plate separately and if so can I get the dimensions?

A: They do, and I bought one.

A: The manufacturer has yet to publish a list of compatible quick release plates and as of this writing we cannot physically verify this, as the tripod head is currently not available in our warehouse.
