Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. What size crimp die do I need for this connector?
A: Size .187 crimp work perfect!
Q: 2. I got one of these and I am getting only a No Signal message on screen. I've tried connecting it on my Sony A6000 and on a Canon T6 and the same thing happens on both cameras. I'm using the HDMI port, going to MODE and chosing HDMI option and nothing changes. Anyone knows what I could be doing wrong? Thank you.
A: I've only had mine for a couple of months and have yet to really put it through the ringer, but it has worked beautifully for me on the few shoots I've done over the summer. If you have already tried switching the inputs on the Monitor then my suggestion would be to 1) Try a new cable as suggested above, and 2) look through your camera's menu settings to make sure it's actually outputting signal to the HDMI output. For some reason some of those smaller DSLR type cameras do not automatically (or by default) send signal to the HDMI output, it has to be turned on via their menu. Good luck... I love mine!!!
Q: 3. Is this monitor compatible with a Canon Vixia HF G70?
A: Yes, the Elvid FieldVision 4KV2 7" On-Camera Monitor is compatible with the Canon Vixia HF G70 UHD 4K Camcorder (Black), BH #CAHFG70.
Q: 4. Would these work with Hikvision 4k cameras in a 200 foot run of coax. And live in an outdoor encloser?
A: The Lorex Coaxial to Ethernet Converter Kit is not rated for outdoor use. However, if you protect the kit in an enclosure it would work. Also, note that Cat6a, and Cat5e cables can be run and work over 200ft. Another good option for your needs is listed below. EverFocus PALUN II Ethernet over Coaxial Converter with PoE BH #EVPALUNII
Q: 5. Will this work on a pentax K-1 ?
A: Yes it will. The Pentax K-1 has a Micro HDMI output, you will just need to purchase a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable to connect that camera to this monitor. https://bhpho.to/2hOzAOU
Q: 6. Bought this monitor in October. Worked fine on my DSLRs until the micro HDMI cable end started acting up. Thought it was the camera since it worked on 2 of them and not the third. Sent the camera to Panasonic thinking the micro HDMI port was defective. They said buy new cables. I have bought a lot of cables and now monitor does not work on any camera. In fact monitor will not even turn on now. I bought a new camera with full size HDMI port for this monitor but still cannot get the monitor to turn on. Any ideas?
A: I suggest trying out some new batteries in the monitor or plugging it directly into an AC outlet. If it still does not work, I recommend contacting Elvid for additional support.
Q: 7. I lose monitor signal when I switch into 4k 60 fps. Works fine in 24 and 30 fps. Does anyone else have this issue?
A: This monitor is not able to process a 4K signal at 60fps. It will work with HD at up to 60fps, UHD 4K at up to 30fps and DCI 4K at 24fps. Most cameras however will allow you to record at 4K and output at a lower quality. So you should be able to still record 4K at 60fps and output to HD for the monitor to see.
Q: 8. Is this monitor completely free of flicker and PWM? The flicker I am referring to is generally not visible with the naked eye, but for sensitive individuals it's effects can still be felt in the form of headache. One can check for flicker pretty easily by pointing a camera at the screen and adjusting the framerate and shutter speed.
A: The Elvid OCM 7B is not completely flicker free. The supported video formats' refresh rates are 50/60 Hz.
Q: 9. I see that you can program this monitor to show the image upside down. Can it also be programmed to show the image upside down AND flipped horizontally (left side is on the right side)?
A: Yes it can. The Image Flip Feature on this monitor allows you to flip the screen vertically, horizontally or both.
Q: 10. when connect to sony ar74, can you see image in both the camera or view finder and the monitor at the same time?
A: This is possible by completing the following steps: 1. Go into settings on the A7R IV. 2. Go to Setup, page 3. 3. Go to HDMI Settings. 4. Turn HDMI Info Display off. And now you should be able to see a live view on both the camera and the monitor. You will not be able to see any of the shooting information on the external monitor, only on the camera, but this will allow you to see the shooting image on both the monitor and the camera.
