Q: 2. Is this for cropped sensors only? Would this not work on a K-1 mk II?

A: The Pentax HD Pentax DA 70mm f/2.4 Limited Lens (Black) is only for Pentax cropped sensor cameras. The lens is incompatible since the Pentax K-1 Mark II DSLR Camera is full-frame.

Q: 3. Does this lens work without electronic camera control? If I use a dummy mount adapter to EF, can I do manual focus and iris control? Or is the fstop only able to be adjusted by a camera that speaks to the lens?

A: The aperture on this lens would need to be controlled by the camera or an adapter with manual aperture control.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with the K7?

A: Yes, most definitely.

Q: 5. Is the quality and compact size of prime lenses worth the loss of convenience compared to zooms?

Q: 8. Can I use a circular polarizer with this lens or is 15mm too wide? Just read about problems with wide angle lenses and circular polarizing lens. How wide is too wide?

A: Hi Judy, yes you can use one. I use a circular polarizer, a basic Tiffen 49mm polarizer, on my DA 15 and it works just fine. Although I'm using the lens without lately it as a test, want to make sure my polarizer is not negatively affecting sharpness. But this is absolutely my favorite lens, renders images beautifully, almost a 3D like effect.

Q: 9. IIs this lens any good for night sky?

A: The HD Pentax 15mm f/4 can be used for night photography if you have a tripod and don't mind star trails. If you're looking to capture photos of sharp stars, I would consider a lens with a wider aperture.
