Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used with the full sized genie + genie mini to perform a pan tilt motion directly from the genie lcd control without using the app?

A: Not that I've found. If you want to do a pan + tilt, you have to use the mobile app. The full size Genie only manages itself. Think of the full size Genie as a slave to the Genie Mini(s).

Q: 2. Will a Nikon D850 or a Nikon Z9 have limited range or are they not compatible at all?

A: Both units will work just fine make sure to have the right shutter cables when using each unit.

Q: 3. Can additional adjustable insulated locking shoes be purchased?

A: Yes, please check out the FB-TGSMA Impact True Grip Shoe Mount Adapter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1265089-REG/impact_fb_tgsma_true_grip_shoe_mount.html

Q: 4. Can this umbrella safely handle heat from a 500 watt photo flood?

A: I do not know. I only use it with camera flash and a 600 w strobe with a standard standard model bulb I think 60 w

Q: 5. Do the cold-shoe mounts on the bar allow for the flashes to swivel left and right? I assume so. For instance on one bar, lets say I have 2 flash units that I want each pointed out at 45 degree angles (as opposed to straight as into an umbrella) thanks in advance :)

A: Yes, I have mounted 2 Canon 600EX RTs on the top and 2 on the bottom. Using this with the Westcott Orb and find it easier to mount the speedlites prior to attaching the softbox.

Q: 6. Does this work well as both a shoot through and reflective umbrella?

A: Yes it does. You just need to take off the black backing.

Q: 7. Is the shaft solid or hollow?

A: No.. it's hollo, tube style. The bottom is capped to avoid damage to the open ended tube. There's a spring loaded release tap in the middle of the rod typical to most umbrellas indicates that it is hollow. For the price point it is rigid enough for the value. The solid center rods will have a butterfly nut to tighten onto the rod...if that makes sense to you. Hope that helps.

Q: 8. is the shaft removable?

A: No.

Q: 9. Would this product work well in a studio space with 8 foot ceilings?

A: Yes this umbrella will work best in your particular space.

Q: 10. Can this just be used with one mini mounted straight to the tripod legs for a vertical motion?

A: Hey David, yes, a single Genie Mini and Pan Tilt Bracket can be used that way. Thanks!

This is made of plate steel and capable of supporting substantial loads.

This flash bar is much better an expected the product to be for the price. It is robust, extremely well made and well designed. I have used it to hold four large flash units for high speed photography and also for background light control during night time nature shots. The low price implies the unit is cheaply made and flimsy, but the reverse is true. It is all metal, beautifully made and very sturdy. I'll be buying kore.

This flash bracket is perfect! I own something similar from Photoflex. The one from Impact is easily worth twice what I paid. Each cold shoe can be detached from the bar, or repositioned so that it can hold two flashes on top and two on bottom. The tilting arm is solid. It's heavier than I thought it would be, which is good because I want security and something durable to hold my precious Canon 600ex flashes.

This bracket is very well built and extremely stable. The large round thumb screws that tighten the cold shoe or your light onto the bracket provide a formidable hold on your gear. Just be sure to attach your lights into the cold shoe with great care, I find that user error can lead to a flash falling. I'm a wedding photographer that shoots with a team of photographers and we uses lots of off camera light. This bracket allows me and any other photographer to have our Godox AD200 or speed lights atop 12' Manfrotto Aluminums-Master stands. We don't need multiple stands, but we each are using our own lights on our own channel. While I attach the AD200 directly to the bracket (no cold shoe), I like to purchase the one with 4 shoes even though I rarely use them. The shoes are great quality & will typically cost $5-10 each if you bought them separately. Special note: sometimes the two screws on the very top of the bar, that hold the bar onto the umbrella adapter/joint/mount .... they can rattle loose during transit. This is not a design flaw, but rather a common issue with transporting light stands and grip - stuff gets rattled and screws can loosen or even fall out. I put Loctite on all of these screws for all of my brackets. The Loctite is not a permanent bond, it simply gums up the threads so they stay in place.

Holding 2 Canon flashes. Also has a nice mount for an umbrella. This is my portable setup of on location lights when I need to be very mobile. Heavy duty mounts hold everything very securely.

I was concerned that it would not be safe to use this on my ceiling. To be clear, I screwed it into the wood studs. I attached a manfrotto arm with a gh5 to it for a fix overhead camera. This is sturdy. I'm not worried about the camera at all. Very well made. I couldn't ask for anything better. Also, decent price! This feels like something that could easily cost double or triple and still make you happy.
