Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long does it last at full power out put and from a fully charged battery? I hope someone tested it...

A: The longest time that I have used the light at full power is about 15 minutes. I can't say at what point it would die.

Q: 2. Is this light compatible with a shoot? If so would you kindly recommend a shoot to work with it?

A: I think the word your looking for is snoot, not shoot. No, there isn't a snoot available.

Q: 3. what is the length of effective light beam?

A: I need to cut the power back at 10-15 feet. Lots of range. The battery lasts over 60 min. To day I used it as a bounce light for 55 min. at full power with no loss.

Q: 4. Does this light get got to the touch? I need to mount this with a camera that my hands will by close by.

A: This light generates little to no noticeable heat, and is safe to touch at all times during normal operation.

Q: 5. Can you play full videos from any of the media store and control them from the mixer surface?

A: The Media-Store of the Ross Video Carbonite Black Solo 1 M/E Live Production Video Switcher can be used with pre-stored graphics and animations, it is not designed for full videos.

Q: 6. Will this mount on my Cannon T3i Digital camera?

A: This light will mount to any shoe mount such as the show on your T3i, it also has a 1/4 -20 threaded socket which will allow it to be mount on stands, articulating arms, etc

Q: 7. Do these come with light bulbs?

A: No, the light bulbs are not included.

Q: 8. Is this unit suitable for still photography?

A: It's balanced for daylight so you can use it anywhere you need extra light for video or photography. It's bright for it's size, but not bright like a small on camera strobe. It's very suitable for what it was designed to be -- a small on camera video light. It's plenty bright for close video work such as on the spot interviews, close ups and such. For photography, since it's not bright like a strobe, I don't believe that it would be bright enough in many situations if you were going to diffuse or bounce the light, though I can see where it would be useful as a fill light, background light or light for highlighting hair in a portrait situation.

Q: 9. The rated CRI is quite low for a video light and would likely not render colors accurately. Any chance this is a misprint -- it seems quite low at well below 80 cri?

A: You are correct, the CRI is a bit low. This isn't meant to be a primary, production-grade instrument, but a quick and inexpensive item to throw into your travel bag, or the glove box in your car. You won't win any awards for excessively creative or inspiring lighting (probably), but you'll be able to shoot in the dark if you weren't quite prepared if you keep this handy.

Q: 10. Are the touch screens included with the board?

A: Touch screens are not included.

Just used it at a event last Friday. Got a feed from the soundboard into this on my left channel to the camera. Feed was to hot so I used this on 20 and the sound was then fine.

My Rode NT 4 is too hot for my Panasonic HMC 150s. The attenuators lower the signal so I can adujst the mike levels properly. I would normally have to take a compressor and use it only to adust the input signal. Now all I need are the attenuators.

Once again Shure has made a bullet proof device.

There is nothing exciting about an attenuator, but when you need one nothing else takes its place. This is about the best on the market. Dead quiet, switchable attenuation, it just works as it is suppose to. Every studio should have a handful of these!

As an event videographer I often have to take a feed from the house audio board. This attenuator helps insure that the incoming signal is still usable and doesn't overload/clip my mixer input.
