A: The threading on the bottom of the Rycote 010323 can technically be used to adapt to a camera hot shoe, like the WindTech CM-38 Photo Hot Shoe to 3/8"-16 Male Adapter B&H # WICM38), but it is not made for that and not ideal, as the Rycote 010323 tends to be on the bulky side, the weight offset that it would create may present an issue and it may also interfere with handling other components on your camera rig. The Rycote 010323 and other blimps are most often used on a boom pole, either handled by a boom pole operator in a field set up, or mounted to a boom pole and light stand, in a stationary set up.
