Sony uses a wide variety of technologies to ensure that you'll enjoy consistent, high-quality output regardless of location.

  • Reality Creation: Boosts the resolution close to 4K for increased quality, and uses Reality Text to improve text clarity.
  • Bright View: Processing technology that brightens images while maintaining rich color representation in bright rooms.
  • Intelligent Settings: Simplifies installation and maximizes quality based on usage, image detail, color richness and fidelity, light output, cooling level, and output noise.
  • Intelligent Settings with Ambiance: Using the ambient light sensor to measure room brightness, Bright View mode and Reality Creation are auto-adjusted to better suit the room.

To achieve a proportional image, Sony provides +55% vertical lens shift. With direct movement of the lens, you can better utilize existing installation infrastructure and eliminate the need for keystone correction. However, if you need keystone correction, it's there. You get 30° horizontal and vertical keystone correction with the VPL-PHZ61.

In corporate settings, a projector can be mounted for a very long time, which is why Sony incorporated an anti-dust system to prevent reduced brightness over time. It does this by completely sealing the laser light source, and inserting a dust filter within the 3LCD panel cooling dust. There's even a dust clogging sensor to let you know when it's time to clean the filter system.

With Auto Light Output working with Ambiance, visibility and image quality are maximized as power consumption is reduced.

Projector settings can be copied to an (optional) USB flash drive and used to quality setup additional projectors.

The active source input is automatically selected to streamline operation.

Save some time by having the VPL-PHZ61 automatically turn on when a connected computer is switched on.

  • Slim and lightweight construction
  • Supports content protected sources, such as 4K Blu-ray players
  • Image scaler can convert 4K input to WUXGA while maintaining close to 4K quality
