The 67mm Variable ND Filter from Bower gives you the capability of shooting with high-speed film or high ISO settings on your digital camera, even in direct sunlight. ND filters reduce the amount of light that reaches your film or your sensor, and this variable ND filter allows you to choose just how much light you want to block from 2 to 8 stops. To adjust the amount of light, simply turn the adjustable dial for a seamless adjustment.

With the variable ND filter on your lens, you can control both the exposure time and depth of field in your photos. Without an ND filter, most cameras do not have a shutter speed fast enough to allow you to shoot wide open in bright conditions. By adding an ND filter, you can blur your background and isolate your subject, even under direct sunlight. You can also shoot very long exposures, which is useful for landscape and architecture photography. Exposing your shot for a long period can make people, clouds, cars, and other moving objects seemingly disappear from your images.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this filter have a hard stop at each end of the range? My 62mm Bower variable ND does, just wondering if this version does as well. Thanks.

A: Yes, this filter has hard stops.

Q: 2. What is outside diameter? I want to attach a screw in hood.

A: The outside diameter is 62mm.

Q: 3. Can I stack another 58mm filter on top of this one?

A: The Bower 58mm Variable Neutral Density Filter has a 62mm front threading. If you want to stack another filter in the front it would need to be a 62mm filter. Alternatively you can put the other 58mm filter in bottom and this one on top. Always be careful to avoid vignetting when stacking filters.

Q: 4. Want to use on a canon ef 100-400 mm to photograph an eclipse. Will it fit/work?

A: Yes,your ND filter will work with solar eclipse. But, that is the least of your problems. If will give the impression that it reduces the light from the sun. It does for visible light, but does NOT reduce the permanent eye damage from UV, which will past through your ND filter as if you had no ND filter. If you do use it for solar eclipse, you MUST, to keep your vision, add add a CERTIFIED solar eclipse filter to stop the very damaging UV light. Without the solar filter, you'll most likely burn out your camera's sensor, along with your vision. Permanently. Wishing you great luck with your solar photos. Respectfully submitted, Bill Edmundson

Q: 5. will this fit the DZOFilm Pictor 20 to 55mm T2.8 Super35 Parfocal Zoom Lens?

A: Yes Bower 86mm Variable Neutral Density Filter is compatible with that lens.

Q: 6. Hi i have a nikon 50mm 1.8 lens will this fit, cause on the box of the lens it said filter size 52mm ?

A: Yes. It will fit. The 52mm is referring to the diameter of the lens where the filter threads fit

Q: 7. is this filter compatible with Pentax 58mm lens?

A: I have used this filter with Canon lens. No problem. Also have mounted the filter in front of a HOYA uv filter. No problem. While I have not used it with any PENTAX lens, I would expect that there will be no problem since the mounting thread for 58mm is standard.

Q: 8. is there a filter that cuts reflection of car interior, w camera mounted to window on the inside, shooting out the car window?

A: Best for reflections is using a polarizing filter not an ND. This is some options, https://bhpho.to/46vbdOC.

Q: 9. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: Not for the intermediary stops.

Q: 10. Made with optical glass? Quality of product?Any suggest what I can purchase in the $100 range?

A: It is a quality product made with multi-coated filter. For the money you can't get a better filter and it's just as good as any other filter under $100.00

I wanted a variable ND filter because carrying multiples becomes hard when you are a nature photog who has to pack everything in and out. This filter gives me a great range of stops and is very easy to use. I did see a moderate amount of vignetting when cranked down to the lowest setting. The images I took using this were very good and I would recommend this if you are in the market for a ND filter.

I have several prime lens' from older cameras that I use with my GH4. Adding the ND filter allows me to use the appropriate shutter speed for the fps setting of the video.

Love this Variable ND Filter!

Great for perfectly exposing the shot for video, when you need to keep the shutter speed low and want to get that creamy bokeh!

Thanks B&H, as usual fast shipping so I can get to shooting!
