A 6-step counterbalance allows you to compensate for the weight of your rig for better balancing, while independent 4-step pan and tilt drag settings provide adjustable resistance for precise movements. A sliding quick release plate attaches to your camera via a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screw, for easy attachment and removal. To assist in keeping your shots level, even in dim environments, the head has a built-in LED illuminated bubble level. A pan bar comes included and can be attached on either the left or right side of the head.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is there another spreader I could use with this tripod to go lower, other than the one included?

A: There is a floor spreader model as well as this mid-level one seen here. Acebil T1002G Tripod Legs (100mm Bowl) B&H # ACT1002G. However, to get as low as possible with this tripod, you would have to remove whatever spreader it has. The lowest possible set up would come with a smaller tripod or a hi-hat. E-Image Hi-Hat with 75/100mm Bowl B&H # EI7500 is one possibility.

Q: 2. Will these legs fit inside a Pelican Air 615?

A: Yes, the Acebil T1002CG Carbon Fiber Tripod with 100mm Bowl and Ground-Level Spreader will barely fit in the Pelican 1615 Air Case (Black, 70.5L) with no foam or inserts.

Q: 3. Does this mid-level spreader also work on 75mm flowtech tripods? I see this question was asked before. But IF this spreader also works on a 75mm flowtech tripod why doesn't the description say this? It is specifically advertised for 100mm tripods? Can B&H or someone from Sachtler confirm this works ???? Thank you!

A: Yes, the Sachtler Mid-Level Carbon Fiber Spreader will work on the flowtech 75 as well. If you click the "Compatibility" tab on the listing for this product, it lists all of the compatible tripods.

Q: 4. can a carrying strap be attached to it?

A: yes, there is a carry strap #8691 available.

Q: 5. Is there a spreader on this tripod?

A: BH #SAS20560001 is the Mid-Level Carbon Fiber Spreader for flowtech 100. https://bhpho.to/2U4koTB

Q: 6. Has anyone tried mounting a slider on it? does it have any substantial flex? and how does it compare to the Manfrotto 535 and 536 in terms of stiffness and stability?

A: This is a surprisingly stable tripod. The first time I took it in the field my producer thought it was a weird, cheap thing until he saw the Sachtler branding. Once the legs are locked, they stiffen and feel as solid as a set of Sachtler speedlocks. I will say, with the spreader attached, it feels rather narrow. Depending on the load, I would have liked the legs to spread more. To answer your question, in comparison to the flex/stability of the Manfrotto legs, it is as stabile as them, albeit without the spread of those legs in terms of width. This was an upgrade for me from the Manfrotto 546B Legs. No regrets thus far

Q: 7. I don't want to buy the whole spreader, can I just buy the part on the head? Thanks!

A: To only get certain components of the Sachtler Mid-Level Carbon Fiber Spreader for flowtech 100, you must buy them ala carte from Sachtler directly.

Q: 8. can these be used on flowtech 75 tripods?

A: yes

Q: 9. Is there a way to attach a 5 inch monitor to one of the legs?

A: You could consider an arm and clamp kit for this. https://bhpho.to/3jdwun9

Q: 10. What, if any, advantage is there to a ground spreader as opposed to the old-fashioned mid-level spreader? Especially for the extra $90!

A: It really depends on your application. Ground level spreader provides best support on a surface that is completely leveled; the mid-level spread will allow for some adjustment (of a single leg or multiple) if the standing surface is uneven.
