A: If the unit was working and then suddenly stopped, first please make sure all cables connecting the two units are functioning. If there were any changes made to the signal chain prior to the issue, please try to reset the original signal chain. If audio from the system can be heard by the caller, but the caller can not be run through the system, please ensure the callers channel is selected to take audio in on the system. Q: 10. I was able recently to compare the sound of my Broadcast Host with a 20+ year-old Telos One hybrid and was astounded by how much less noise the ancient Telos had compared to my JK Audio unit. Am I doing something wrong with my BH? Are there settings I don't know about that adjust the noise suppression or whatever? This unit is more advanced so I'm sure it's operator error.

A: Telos is a professional broadcast supplier of telephone hybrids. The Telos One units were broadcast, very high quality devices, they adjusted the quality of analog audio, based on the POTS ("Plain Old Telephone Service") telephone line being used for that exact call. Currently, the telephone lines are often digital lines or sometimes a combination of analog and digital and often are carried over internet service providers. Using Audio Over Internet Provider (AOIP). There are several companies/ products which address these phone line differences. These include the JK Innkeeper, Comrex and Telos products (the latter 2 being Broadcast level).
