A: I would say that this is the result of wanting the maximum space. I would imagine Porta Brace is thinking the users want more space and that the wheels, if in the rare chance they are damaged, would be an easy fix.

A: The inside diameter of the HCSA40 case is 18.2". The Rode blimp system is 19.3". I believe you would have to remove the end cap of the Rode blimp for it to fit into the case.

A: You will need to check with your air carrier for their size restrictions. The Westcott Scrim Jim Deluxe Wheeled Travel Case BH #WE7351 is a softcase and will not hold up to as much abuse as a hardcase.
