A: The set screw is not designed to be removed. It is fixed into place with red locktite and would require a torch to loosen and remove.

It worked perfectly. I used it to return a heavy tripod I bought back in the early '70s to service. B&H may not appreciate this, but it saved me the price of a new tripod. The flange plate mated to the tripod post, and I secured the adapter by applying blue Loctite to the threads. 5

This is an easy adapter and easy to remove when tou don't need it. I use it on a monopod to change heads. 5

It can be used to install a ball head on a standard 1/4 screw. It is very flat so it can go under the ball head and it is almost invisible. 5
