A: The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 600mm f/4G ED VR listed above was originally released in 2007. The new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4E FL ED VR lens, released last year in 2015, uses Nikon's latest technology providing enhanced autofocus tracking and improved optical performance, with fluorite lens elements which help in both reducing chromatic aberration and decreasing the weight of the lens. The new lens weighs 8.3 lbs (as opposed to the 11.5 lbs of the lens you list above, almost 3 lbs lighter, which will be advantageous for long sports games or wildlife shooting). The best I can state is to simply keep an eye on either the Press Release webpage on Nikon USA's website, a href= http://DPReview.com, target= _blank DPReview.com,/a or our website, as we update our website as soon as we receive information from Nikon on a new item they plan to release.

This is a great zoom lens that raises the bar on the 70 - 200mm at the refurb price. I am not a professional, just a full featured avid photographer since the days of film. This was a refurbished model and I can tell no difference from a new one at .... All parts were included just like a new one. This will be a great lens for my upgrade to the D7000 in the near future. At this price for the refurb the 70 - 200mm is a non-player!

... very good condition. the lens is compact, works good, perfect to couple it with an entry level nikon digital slr, it has the AF-S for such a ridicule price, what more could you ask.

Bought this for my niece. She used it on vacation and I tried it on an older camera I had. It works very well, sharper focus and quieter. Very pleased.

For the price this lens is an amazing value. Wide-angle, zoom, auto-focus, compact, easy to attach - all for way less than you would think. I use the lens especially for travel. It is very useful when touring a city as you encounter a variety of building sizes and various distances from your target of interest. The wide-angle is perfect for the inside of a cathedral or palace. This lens simply gives a wide variety of options. Unfortunately, I learned the thing that is not so great about the lens on my most recent trip. I dropped the camera and watched the lens pop right off. The lens is held on the camera by little plastic flanges which break when force is applied. Maybe it was designed that way to take the force off the camera. But it was disappointing to see broken plastic pieces on the floor. Overall though, this is a great lens and a great value.
