The EX-Macro Aluminum Tabletop Tripod from Velbon is a small, lightweight tripod with a 3-way pan/tilt head. It extends from 8" to 22.2", and holds up to 3.3 lb, making it ideal for point-and-shoot or small DSLR cameras. The tripod folds down to 11", making it portable and great for travel. The 3-section legs have radial braces for added support. On top of the tripod is a 3-way pan and tilt head that turns 90° to portrait orientation, and allows for left to right pans and forward and backward tilts. A carrying case is included for easy transport.

A: This is not a fluid head for video. This head is used for photo.

Q: 8. Does this tripod have rubber feet? I'm trying to find something that would not slide on a smooth surface.

A: Yes. The feet on the EX-Mini (at the time that I bought mine) are rubberized. There may be surfaces on which they would still slide, but I tried it on wood, plastic and glass without slipping.Hope this helps.

Q: 9. when it is in the lowest position at 8 what is messurement of the area the legs cover?

A: I'm afraid Velbon does not list the exact specs for how much area the legs will cover when this tripod is only 8 inches from the ground. However we can tell you that it will take up a very small amount of room when configured like that.

Q: 10. Can you replace the quick release plate, or use the one included, and mount a camcorder to this tripod?

A: my Sony camcorder has the same female thread as my cameras so I mount either or to the quick release. Also I modified a monopod to fit to the thread so I can shoot over people in front of me.

I wasn't sure if I should get a 2 way or 3 way tripod and I am happy I made the choice to get 3 way. The quality of the product is great and it is very useful. I am personally using it for jewelry photography so it sits infront of my lightbox perfectly. It does not extend very long though if you try to use a very low table, it might still be too short. It is strictly for tabletop use. 5

This is as advertised, well made and sturdy, easy to adjust. I was happy to discover that the up-and-down arm (no idea what it's called, I'm not a video guy) is not in the shot when I flip the screen so I can record myself playing the guitar close up, and easily make height adjustments. 5

I have a larger Manfrotto tripod for studio shooting. But this small lightweight tripod is more versatile than I thought it would be. I really like the way the legs extend, and flatten down if needed for more stability, and also to remain low to the surface when a low angle is desired. It's really convenient. 5
