The Peavey IPR2 5000 2-Channel Power Amp features an advanced design that makes it lightweight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency. This amplifier is designed with a resonant switch-mode power supply and a high-speed Class D topology that yields a high audio resolution and efficiency. Advanced technology and extensive protection circuitry allow for efficient operation under difficult loads and power conditions.

The DDT (Distortion Detection Technique) circuitry ensures trouble-free operation into loads as low as 2Ω. DDT protects drivers and ensures that sonic integrity is maintained, even in extreme overload conditions. This amp also features 2-channel independent fourth order Linkwitz-Riley crossovers and a variable-speed fan housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis. The amplifier’s high-efficiency design allows it to operate at very low temperatures without the need for massive heat sinks to cool.

Q: 6. can I plug my computer via usb directly to my studio monitors? or do I still need a mixer in between the box and monitors?

A: This direct box would usually be used to go into an XLR mic input on a mixer, but Peavey does show a line level option, so it can be plugged directly into studio monitors.

Q: 7. What type of effects come with the amplifier

A: The Peavey PVi 8500 400W 8-Channel Mixer/Amplifier with FX and Bluetooth list of effects includes 3 different reverbs, Delay, Vocal Enhance, and Chrous.

Q: 8. Does it work with cubase? There is no comment about ASIO

A: This should work with any software that lets you choose the output device.

Q: 9. Is the subwoofer out frequency selectable?

A: It does not have a frequency variable sub out. Just a mono out feed to the sub.

Q: 10. What is the AC power range of this unit?

A: It is 120 VAC 60Hz only.
