Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. So is this (not black) Savage stand also anti-rust stainless steel, or is it unplated steel?

A: Stainless steel is not painted. This is stainless steel.

Q: 2. Can any ballhead (of suitable strength for its intended purpose) be used with his tripod? I am currently using the Acratech GV2 Ball Head/Gimbal Head. Thanks for any help you can provide!

A: The Manfrotto 058B Aluminum Triaut Tripod has a 3/8 -16 head mount thread size. If you check the specifications of the tripod head you wish to purchase or use with the tripod, if it accepts the 3/8 -16 screw, it would be compatible for use with the 058B Aluminum Triaut Tripod. The specifications for the Acratech GV2 Ball Head/Gimbal Head indicates it has dual 1/4 -20 and 3/8 tripod mount thread sizes, so yes, it would be compatible for use with the tripod.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Manfrotto MH055M8-Q5 Photo-Movie Tripod Head With Q5 QR Plate?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 4. Is there any differences between the 058B compared to the models it was formally know as; 3051, 3251 ?

A: The Manfrotto 058B and 3021 tripods are essentially the same.

Q: 5. Is there any differences between the 058B and Art. 058

A: dont know

Q: 6. I purchased a Manfrotto 058B from someplace online ages ago however at the time, I didn't even realise that I needed another attachement to be able to fit my camera to it...I have a Canon Eos 6D... Can you recommend something to attach my camera to the tripod please?

A: Yes, you will need a tripod head, I would recommend the Manfrotto pan tilt head, click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1034870-REG/manfrotto_mhxpro_3w_3_way_pan_tilt_head.html

Q: 7. How much chemistry do you use? At this small level is the chemistry strong enough to develop the film?

A: Use 300 ml of chemistry in this tank. This is pretty much standard for 35 mm film tanks like the Patterson, and others. Rodinal at 1+50, HC-110 at 1:31, DD-X at 1+4, all work well in this tank at 300 ml. I would recommend the Hewes reel as some of the other stainless reels are cheaply made and not very good.

Q: 8. OK: I think I have the answer to my question: This depends on how one is viewing the situation: this is a reducer if viewed from the object to be clamped, e.g., a camera clamp with originally 1/4 socket, and needs to be mounted to a tripod with 3/8 stud. I am looking for something that goes in the opposite direction: my tripod stud is 3/8 , and need to find a bushing that will reduce the TRIPOD 3/8 stud to 1/4 . The photo will be quite different for this type. Can the experts help, please??

A: Here you go. Impact Small 3/8 Female Threaded Adapter to 1/4 -20 Male Threaded Post B&H # IMCA103.

Q: 9. The 058 is compatible with 127vs dolly?

A: Yes it is

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the receiver whole on one of the legs to attach 20" riser? Do you have similar but 40" double riser to go higher and attach a reflector?

A: The receiver on the legs is a junior type receiver at 1 1/8". Although the receiver can hold a 20" column, it is not recommended to use a 40" column in place of it, due to heavier weight.
