Q: 1. I need the LegCoat for my Gitzo3540L in Forrest Green, not Real tree, do you have it?
A: B&H does carry the LegCoat Tripod Leg Protectors for the Gitzo GT3540L in Forest Green (B&H # LELCG3540LFG).
Q: 2. Will this work on Zeiss 20x60 binocular ?
A: Unfortunately, no. The eyepiece diameters are very different.
Q: 3. Will this case allow for access to the zoom ring for the modular zoom eyepiece (with zoom ring adjacent to focus ring)?
A: When the Swarovski Stay-On-Case for ATS-65 / ATS-65 HD / ATM-65 HD Spotting Scope is on the scope, the user will not have access to the Zoom ring.
Q: 4. Will this eyecup fit over 1.5" diameter Swarovski Habitch armored 10X42 binocular ocular?
A: Hi John, I hope you are well today and thank you for your interest in our products. The eyecup you selected will only work with our current spotting scopes with a 20-60x eyepiece. For example, the STR 80 or ATS/STS 65 or 80 with a 20-60x eyepiece. Please contact us at 1-800-426-3089 Ext-1 to further assist you in finding the correct eyecup. Best Regards, Jacob
Q: 5. Is the optical quality superior to my current 30X70 zoom? I assume so since zooms usually are inferior. Tests? Proof of image quality over zoom? If used at night for astronomy, e.g., estimating magnitudes of variable stars, will the small 2.7 exit pupil be a negative to the point "not really usable at night sky"? What about splitting the light into the two barrels? Will this also be an issue of "not really meant for nighttime sky viewing"?
A: I own both the angled 30x70 zoom lens and the binocular BTX 35x eyepieces for my 90mm Swarovski modular spotting scope. Two me they are two different tools in the tool box. The 30x70 zoom eyepiece is ideal for scoping distant birds for bird watchers (which I am), especially for distant waterfowl on a lake as you pan the 180 degree vista in front of you. This combo is also ideal for watching shorebirds. You find the ducks at 30x and if you can’t identify them, you use the zoom feature. I use the binocular eyepiece for nest watching only these days, such as Bald Eagle and Osprey nests, or Purple Martin houses. With the binocular eyepiece, the whole unit is kind of heavy and bulky so you do not want to be lugging it too far in the field. I find the depth of field and, therefore, the focus, very sensitive with the binocular eyepiece. The binocular eyepiece is not the best choice if you are sharing the scope viewing experience with others because they will have to adjust the interpupilary distance of the two lenses and possibly the adjustable rings that aid in the distance your eyes are from the lenses. Optically, both lenses are mind-blowing! I have used the binocular eyepiece at night watching birds and bats fly silhouetted in front of the full moon. It was extremely sharp and bright. I am in my late 60s and have owned and used just about every make of scope. I am an Ornithologist so watch birds for a living, for citizen science, and for pleasure, and nothing can touch the quality of this scope for bird watching. I am sorry, for astronomical endeavors, I just don’t have the experience or expertise to answer your questions.
Q: 6. Does it work with the STM 80 or the ATM 80
A: The Eye Cup for ATX/STX will not work with an ATM/STM spotter. Assuming you have a 20-60 or 25-50 Wide Angle Eyepiece, you'll need our item 44089. This can be found by searching the B&H page for "Swarovski Optik 44089".
Q: 7. What adapters do you need to make this compatible with a Canon 5D Mark III or IV?
A: In order to use the Swarovski ATS-80 HD Spotting Scope with the Canon Eos 5D series camera, these 3 parts are needed: https://bhpho.to/3t3g2Ao, https://bhpho.to/4543ndE, and https://bhpho.to/3LyVNRE.
Q: 8. What is the length of cover? I need 9-7/8 so not slide. Also what is inside diameter of cover? I own Manfrotto 055MF4 Tripod which it says it will fit.
A: They are 9 inches in length . Very well made .
Q: 9. Will this eyepiece work on the ATX eyepiece?
A: This Eyepiece is dedicated for STR Scopes. This will not work with ATX Eyepieces.
Q: 10. Will these fit on a Leofoto LS-284CEX Ranger? Legs are 28mm
A: The LensCoat LegCoat Wraps 111 (Set of 3, Black), B&H # LELW111BK • MFR # LW111BK, would be the correct leg wraps compatible for use with the Leofoto LS-284CEX Ranger Series Carbon Fiber Tripod with 15° Leveling Base (Black).
