I used this tripod and head for the first time to photograph and alignment of the Moon and Venus. It provided a steady platform for the camera and allowed me to get some clear pictures. It does weigh about 5 pounds but it provides a substantial base for making a shot. The carrying case is quite nice.

This tripod is light for its sturdiness. It's easy to use and comes with a case.

Thus far the tripod has not been subjected to anything approaching rugged outdoor use, but that is the intent and I am fairly confident it will survive. At this price point it's also a reasonable piece of equipment to risk when it needs to be left in the open for time lapse shots. I quite appreciate that the center column detaches as a monopod which is valuable in its own right. The fit & finish have been excellent with the exception of some bolt covers that came loose during shipping, but they were popped back into place and haven't fallen out again yet. The movement is smooth when changing orientation and the carry case appears to be of adequate quality. It is worth noting that the spacing between the mounting points are different than the spacing on the GoPro adapter for tripod mounts. I don't know who is in error.

True, this tripod should have been field tested before putting on the market, but the second I read the negative review about the "wobble" even when nut is tightened, I immediately figured out that a "spacer/washer" will easily solve the problem. I am taking the time to write this review because after reading the specs and the reviews, to get a tripod which is: 1) lightweight 2) has a weight capacity of 10 lbs. 3) has bubble levels.. 4) quick release plate. 5) quick flip levers. 5) bag included, 6) spikes and 7) center column converts to a monopod, all for under $90/on sale for $49. THIS IS QUITE AMAZING.
Also, the closed length sounds like it will fit in a medium sized suitcase for light travel and leave the heavyweight at home. Cheers to all. Happy shooting. i do understand that everyone has their own preference. And OH!!! I forgot that it also goes to a max height of 6 feet.

I use this tripod to hold a Connex Pro Sight FPV receiver. I chose it because of its height and was amazed at how sturdy this thing is. It's not badly priced for the high quality unit is it.
