Q: 4. Hi B&H, is there a hook on the end to hang a counterweight? HNY!

A: No, I use a rachet strap and anchor it to the bottom of the combo. Quick, easy, and one less sandbag to carry around.

Q: 5. Does this come with a stand? If not, what do you recommend?

A: No stand. I recommend a combo stand. You can go light weight with a baby stand. Obvious weight limits with the baby.

Q: 7. if I use the inserts can I match this with a Focusrite Pro 40 for multitrack recording? Also is there a rackmount option?

A: The ZED inserts can be used as direct outs to your Pro 40 firewire unit. However, you will need specially wired cables. A regular TS or TRS cable connected to the insert will interupt the signal flow through the channel and nothing will reach the fader. You will need to use TRS cables where the TIP and RING are connected. The rack-mount kit for the ZED-16FX is model AH-ZED18-RK19.

Q: 8. Wow, how old is this model? It says the USB on it (I do not even a USB jack in the rear, weird) is 1980s style USB 1.1. I thought they stopped making those 20 years ago! Anyhow, I was about to ask if the USB to the computer can handle 16 tracks IN and 16 tracks out... but if the interface is of the ancient USB 1.1 type.... then I should be asking if this thing can handle a stereo pair of signals to the computer... or only 1 x 1 mono?

A: The ZED-16FX was released in 2012. The USB connector is located on the surface of the mixer, not on the rear panel.A standard USB type B connector plugs in with a supplied cable. The three selector switches determine what is sent on the USB output. They work on a priority system, so that if more than one is pressed, the nearest one to the top takes precedence. If all threeare pressed, the Aux 1 & 2 signals would be sent by the USB device. The mixer is equipped with a stereo bi-directional USB 1.1 compliant audio CODEC. It is fully compliant with USB 2 ports and uses standard Windows and Mac Core Audio drivers. In other words, plug it in and your computer will find it and will be able to transfer audio to and from the ZED USB device. The mixer is supplied with SONAR X1 LE digital audio workstation software.Send Options:1) Main Mix Left + Right (post fade)2) Main Mix Left + Right (pre fade)3) Aux 1-24) Aux 3-FXReturn Options:1) To Stereo 3 ChannelMore information---On the Allen & Heath website, a href= http://www.allen-heath.com target= _blank www.allen-heath.com/aUsers can see or download the User Guide for the products which are listed under DOCUMENTS for each model.
