Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello is it possible to fit a 13 macbook pro in there somewhere? Thank you for your help!

A: It might fit in the big outside pocket, but it would not have any protection. It's a non padded pocket. I hate to point you in the wrong direction, but I've had mine less than a year and I'm thinking about selling it and going back to a LowPro bag. The clips are a pain, my 70-200 won't fit in a convenient way, and I dislike all the Velcro on the pockets. I hope this helps.

Q: 2. Does the top cover zipper closed or is it just a flap? I work around debris filled environments and like a zipped closure.

A: The Domke F2 bag has a zippered pouch inside the flap. The pouch is nearly the size of the entire flap. The outer canvas of the flap is lined with Cordura-like material. The canvas is relatively water proof since cotton canvas swells when wet. I have probably used up a dozen or so Domke bags over the years—they are very sturdy, but using them to carry heavy video equipment (five-pound batteries, etc.) eventually cuts through the canvas when dragging the bags in and out of trains, planes, and automobiles—ships and submarines too. If you plan to carry the bag on your shoulder all day, the F2 is the largest you should go. The F2 has an outer pocket on each end large enough to hold a Stephen King paperback novel, closed with a velcroed flap. There is an exterior pouch on the back large enough for an iPad Pro. There are two open pockets on the front that have no individual flaps, but that are secured by the top flap when it is clipped shut. Each is just a bit smaller than a typical paperback novel. Inside, a padded board is fit in, covering the bottom. A strip of velcro is sewed along the two long sides. A padded Cordura four section set of pockets, each large enough to hold a moderately sized full frame lens (eight inches by three inches) can be attached to the velcro strips sewed to the sides. There will also be space inside at one end for a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a moderately sized lens pointing up. If you have fast lenses or long zooms, two of the four padded cells may need to remain empty. I would keep chargers and extra batteries in an end pocket, filters in the side pockets; documents, flash memory toothbrush & toothpaste, and medication in the zippered pocket. Phil

Q: 3. This bag comes with a padded foam insert with 4 partitions. I need to replace mine. Does anyone know which model name/number this padded insert is?

A: The Domke FA-240 4-Compartment Insert, BH # DOFA240 would fit the F-1X Shoulder Bag. https://bhpho.to/3QFTDjr

Q: 4. Will this bag hold a Fuji xt3, 18-55 zoom and a single 35 f2 prime?

A: Yes, the Domke F-3X will accommodate a Fujfilm X-T3, Fujifilm 18-55mm and single 35mm f/2 prime.

Q: 5. I want to carry Nikon D850 with AF-S Nikkor 24-70 lens attached, and very few small accessories. Is this my bag?

A: The Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag has interior dimensions of 9 x 8.5 x 5.5", so you will be able to carry the Nikon D850 DSLR Camera with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED Lens attached and a few accessories.

Q: 6. Can the compartment dividers be moved around? Do they attach with Velcro?

A: Yes, you can move the compartment divider, they attach with Velcro.

Q: 7. What is the maximum length the carry strap can be extended to?

A: approx. 150cm.I'm 5ft9 and with full extension it goes below my pelvis

Q: 8. How weather resistant is this bag?

A: is manufactured from cotton canvas that is naturally water-resistant, but which is a 'breathable" fabric so the air in the case stays dry even in humid environments. However, the manufacturer does not list a specific weather rating or IP rating for the case. It should be okay for use in light or moderate rain or snow and in humid conditions.

Q: 9. How would this fue with a gfx100s, couple lenses and aQ2

A: Perfect match for the GFX 100 a few lens and accessories with no problem.

Q: 10. I LOVE this bag but hate the clips on the straps. Pinch my fingers, pinch my gloves and are just all around difficult to me. Does Domke make replacement straps with the more commonly used buckle release style fasteners?

A: I agree with you 100%,so I went to the outdoor store and bought a couple of field repair Buckle ( $6 each) they are by (seato summit), They go together with a stainless steel pin with phillips head , problem solved hope this helps you cheers

I use it to hold: 7D, Rebel xsi, 430ex ii, Vivitar 285HV, 50mm, 60mm, 10-22mm, various accessories, and I have plenty of room for more.

Third Domke bag. I finally had enough gear to merit a fit everything bag. Now I am able to cary all my gear with me when the occasion calls for it during travel. I have 2x 2.8 zooms, 5x primes, lensbaby set, 1 DSLR, 1 Film SLR, light meter, flash, micro tool kit, leatherman, filters, 7 CF cards, writing pad, extra batteries with chargers, and a little room to spare for hand santizer and film rolls. The bag is a champ, but it's just a tad to big to shoot out of.

Good neutral colour great when shooting in sunny climes. This bag is rugged and well made in the USA. This has been my main bag for 8 years. I'm older and wiser now, so I've stopped lugging gear on my shoulders. I pull this bag and everything else on a portable dolly. A word of advise to the young bucks, save strain on your back and knees NOW, you are going to need them later.

This bag is everything I expected it to be, and more. It is more, in that it is bigger than I expected, and that's a good thing. I wanted a big bag. That is what I got. After numerous other bags, I eventually got myself a Domke F-3X to hold just enough gear for a specific shoot/outing - and it rapidly became my main bag... even when it wasn't really able to hold everything I wanted it to hold without risking my lenses/body. I eventually realized that I needed to get a bigger Domke. After much deliberation and comparing size:weight ratios of my other bags as compared to the F-3X, I decided that it really didn't matter if I got the F-2 or the F-1X. The F-1X has plenty of room - but is light enough that if you don't pack it full to the brim, it doesn't really matter. The standard insert is great for carrying a few moderate lenses, and the bag easily fits a 70-200 lens. Don't get this bag if you expect tons of padding, though... however I've found that these canvas bags are just as good as the heavier well-padded bags from other manufacturers unless you're really rough with your gear.

I use this for both my Hasselblad 503 plus three lenses (and accesories) and my 35mm kit/DSLR. It is large enough to allow me to carry everything I need for a day of shooting with space to spare- but the size is still manageable. There is a bit less padding than in other shoulder bags- but it seems adequate for my purposes. The only thing that I don't like is that the insert doesn't keep its shape so well- so sometimes reinserting items on the fly is a bit of a hassle.

I was using the tenba medium shootout backpack as my primary bag. It is the perfect backpack for me. I also use it for home storage and transportation. However, it is big and heavy. It is also not practical to shoot out of. Therefore I was looking for a shoulder bag to hold: Canon 30d w/ battery grip Canon 7d w/ battery grip Canon 10-22 Canon 24-70 2.8 Canon 50 1.4 Canon 70-200 ii is Canon 420 ex speedlite All lens hoods and tripod collar Cleaning supplies, memory cards, filters This bag holds all of the items which makes the domke shoulder pad a must! I can fit my 15 macpro in the back w/o zippering it closed and my ipad easily. Only downsides are lack of padding on top and is more accesible to the elements but I'll trade that for decreased size and weight. I am selling my new unused lowepro stealth 650 which is like carrying a nearly square cooler. Way too big, too heavy, and layout makes you have to stack too much for easy access.

Why did it take me so long to believe my brother and buy a Domke bag? I love this bag- the way it balances against my hip, the sturdiness of the fabric, straps and clips, the inner foam camera lens holder. It even looks cool. I can fit/strap on all my wedding photo shoot equipment and that makes me happy. Read the reviews- they're not lying. Buy the Postal carrier foam strap otherwise it will hurt after awhile. The metal clips on the front are a bit awkward and slightly hard to use, which is good if you want to keep young kids out.

Best bag I have ever owned. Roomy, plenty of space for two bodies, 5 lenses, filters and even my gorillapod. Word of caution - little padding, you need to take care of your own gear. Word of praise - MADE IN USA!

Just big enough. Great looking. Useful pockets and sturdy enough to carry around with the gear protected. Buy it, you'll like it.
