A: Yes, 100% all items at BH are brand new sealed in box with original warranty unless purchased from our used dept.

Q: 2. If processed ta archival standards, is this paper as archival as Ilford's traditional baryta fiber based papers?

A: Yes this paper would be archival when processed and stored properly.

Q: 3. I have 3/4 of an 8x10 box left that I purchased 5 years ago an d has been stored at room temp. Do you think it's still good? I

A: Ilford Multigrade Art 300 Paper (8 x 10", 50 Sheets) might still be okay. But it can loose sensitively and can fog over time. The best is to try it and see the results.

Q: 4. what's the difference between semi-matt and pearl finishes?

A: Semi Matt is closer to a matt finish than it is to glossy (my observation/opinion). I have never seen pearl in a fiber base paper, only in RC, and that has a more radiant or iridescent look.

Q: 5. Will awesome prints made with Ilford Art 300 paper still look awesome under frame glass?

A: Yes, if you get higher end glass with anti reflective coating.

Q: 6. This is fiber based and not resin coated, right?

A: Correct. It is a heavier than normal fiber paper that tends to move to the warmer side, responds well to different developing agents, tones well and dries relatively flat.Try a few sheets. You may like it. Great for portraits.

Q: 7. how much does the box weight? txs

A: I think around 6 or 7 lb, including the box.

Q: 8. is this is for silver gelatin printing?

A: Yes, the Ilford Multigrade FB Classic Matte Variable Contrast Paper (11 x 14", 10 Sheets) is designed for silver gelatin printing for traditional black & white darkroom usage needs.

Q: 9. Hello, I am interested in sending this package of Ilford Multigrade Art 300 Paper (20 x 24 , 15 Sheets) to Colombia via your international shipping options.I am worried about xray during the flight affecting the paper.Do you think it will get damage or should I not worry about this?Thank you very much for your attention and I will be waiting for your response.Sincerely,Carlos Saavedra

A: Carlos, Xray does affect B&W photo paper. It does depend on the dose used though. A few years ago, Ilford found out about high-power X-rays via a Walkman printed on half a box of paper in a shipment! In the words of a spokesman, We were impressed. Also, all shippers reserve the right to Xray packages in and out of the US. They might do it routinely but the possibility exists. One option would be to mark the package with Photographic Material - please do not Xray and also discuss it with the shipper beforehand. I hope this helps.

Q: 10. What about fixing?

A: This paper fixes just like regular FB paper, about 2-5 minutes in Sprint.

rich blacks, clear whites, wonderful gradations, fast speed, real nice neutral blacks on a pure white base. Excellent value and substantial paper thickness. Dries well on screens with minimal curling and with a nice gloss surface. One of the best papers that I have ever used. Been a serious photog for over 45 years.

If you liked the old MG IV fiber paper then you'll love the new classic paper from Ilford. It's my go to paper for all printing. I don't usually tone and the paper seems to dry a little warmer then the previous version. Great paper at a competitive price.

I the past I have used selenium toner (1-20) to help enhance the blacks but after doing a test on FB Classic I found that the paper gives really good rich prints without toning.
