Haven't had the router overly long yet, but I've used them in several installations before as well and always had great experiences with them. Synology's SRM software is easy to manage and allows many additional security options, some of which aren't offered by competitors.

Speeds on both wired and wireless are excellent, as is connectivity throughout its Wifi range. Using the 5Ghz band close to the router produces some impressive speeds and latency results, while the 2.4Ghz band has impressive range and connectivity.

After using the Synology Router for two days I realized something... Synology's strategy for making a router is simple.. instead of making 19 different routers like Netgear or ASUS with often overlapping features, making you wonder which one to buy they decided on a simple strategy:


Make ONE router and make it be VERY good.


And they deliverer with their product. I get WiFi transfer speeds of up to 600Mbit/s on a 1G Ethernet service line. The router also has adaptive security management that can monitor and block any suspicious traffic from NAT STUN to privilege escalations to pretty much any hack you can think of and those security databases are updated regularly so you always have the latest security scan updates. You can combine this with the MR2200ac mesh router and have whole-home network coverage.


Synology absolutely created a Ferrari of a router at a Chevy price point.

I was using Deco M9 in my 3 level home for a year. No issues with dropped connection but speed varies a lot. Switched to Synology mesh and absolutely amazing speed connection and software for configuration. Also the ability to have USB drive shared as a media center is absolutely amazing. Love it and the best mesh in the market.

This replaced an Apple router that was approx. ten years old and starting to have connection issues. The Synology was very easy to install and set up. The speed of connection is extremely good, even when most of the connected components are being used, This unit serves a network that consists of 6 laptop devices and 2 stationary computers that are used for video and audio projects as well as business applications. I highly recommend this router.

Great wifi coverage and easy to use GUI settings page. Can place my PC in a DMZ to play online games and easily switch back to being protected in a heartbeat. Styling is pretty nice, love the four antenna's. 10/10 would buy again.

I purchased this because I read on several websites that it has easy to use parental controls (I have seven children). These controls ARE VERY easy to use compared to others I've seen. I also own a Synology NAS (file server) and the interface is the same; it's a great interface.

Great home router. I purchased this to replace an ARRIS modem router combination. I am with spectrum and decided to split those functions into two boxes rather than the one. Spectrum provided a free modem but wanted five dollars a month to provide the router.

I love the many functions that they Synology router has. Especially the ability to set up all of the port forwarding necessary for my system. I am running this with a Synology Nas DS 418 play. I also took advantage of the routers The PN plus and this works great with my iPhone 11. This is another monthly savings that I am realizing since I no longer need to have the outside VPN service.

This router also has great remote access if you need or want to use that. I can control the router anywhere there is Internet using my iPhone. I've only had the product about a month but so far no issues at all. I couldn't recommend this product more strongly.

This replaced an older router. Very easy to set up. Better range than the replaced router. Synology routers have great firmware, and send me an alert an blocks access to external site when one of my users attempts to connect to a bad site.

As expected, good coverage and easy to configure

This Synology router, especially with their Tri-Band Mesh Router, is amazing if you want granular control- especially of users' web site access, hours of use, amount of use, speed, etc. It's not plug in and forget but if you want to control your WiFi network this is state of the art.
