The 58mm Wolverine Magnetic Variable ND Filter with Adapter Ring, Gen 2 from Kase provides an increase in neutral density through a 6 to 9-stop range. Increasing neutral density offers finer control in available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase motion blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and increasing bokeh.

The filter is made from a durable tempered optical glass that is shockproof and almost indestructible. It features multicoated surfaces for reduced lens glare, providing optimal light and color transmission. The rotating magnetic aluminum filter ring has a density scale for repeatable results. The included adapter ring fits on 58mm lens filter threads, and the front of the filter allows slightly larger 62mm-size magnetic filters to be stacked on, to add additional filter functionality without vignetting. It is fully compatible with Kase Wolverine, Kase Revolution, and Kase Skyeye magnetic filters and lens caps.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am more concerning the image quality and autofocus speed when using this variable ND filter. Does it degrade the image quality or add othe color tone(s) or hue(s) to the captured image? Does it slow down the autofocus speed at all?

A: It works well , The darker the ND the slower the focus usually it gets , but in Mirrorless Digital Camera its not as bad , and it does not have a color shift

Q: 2. Can you buy this adapter and later change out just the filter to like a UV filter or Polarized filter? Or do you have to buy and completely new adapter if you want to use it with Polarized filter?

A: The Canon Drop-In Clear Filter A, B&H # CADICFA, the Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter A, B&H # CADICPFA, and the Canon Drop-In Variable ND Filter A (1.5-9 Stop), B&H # CADIVNDFA, would all be available as separate purchasable accessories compatible for use with the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter.

Q: 3. filter itself? Is it a nano coated? Any details on color cast (blue)?

A: It is not nano coated and there is a slight blue cast on the upper range.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with the metabones speedbooster on a Sony FS7? Stabilisation Will work?

A: This is not compatible with the FS7 or any other E-Mount camera. This is an EF to EOS R Adapter.

Q: 5. Does this work with full frame camera and lenses?

A: Yes, this is for the EOS R system.

Q: 6. Will canon r5 control ring and drop in nd filter adapter work together on eos r5c

A: No, it will not. If you plan to connect a Canon EF-mount lens onto the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera, you may use either the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter on your EF-mount lens or you may use the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on your EF-mount lens, but you cannot use both on the lens at the same time.

Q: 7. can you use third-party filters like breakthrough photography filters in this adapter?

A: The Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF to EOS-R with Variable ND Filter is a lens adapter that includes a Drop-In Variable ND Filter (ND3-ND500) and clear drop in filter. It is not designed to hold any other filter.

Q: 8. Does this seriously not come with a cover for when the filter is not in place? That would be Canon's ultra-stingy style.

A: You can get Canon Drop-In Clear Filter A for when you don't wont to use a ND filter https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1434115-REG/canon_3444c001_drop_in_clear_filter_a.html

Q: 9. For this price does it come with the extender and the ND filter?

A: Yes. The price of $399 (dec 4th) is with the filter. Note: "Style: With Drop-In Neutral Density Filter"

Q: 10. Would this adapter fit onto an RF Teleconverter extender? So rf camera - extender - adapter - ef lens? Thanks!

A: The RF teleconverters do not fit into the EF-RF adapters, so that order would not be possible.
