Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is this paper difficult to flatten after development? Can it be used with Ilford filters and developer?
A: Once dried, pressing them between 2 heavy books should take care of the curl for the most part.
Q: 2. This paper is 180gsm or 280 gsm?
A: The Fomatone MG Classic 131 VC FB Paper is 180 gsm.
Q: 3. I exposed this paper under the enlarger, and then put it to the tray of developer but it comes nothing, why? Should I take a different process?
A: I find when enlarging images on this paper that I have longer exposure times and developing times than any other papers. Try longer for both. Best of luck!
Q: 4. what safelight does this paper require?
A: According to the data sheet included with the Foma FOMABROM FB Grade 3 B&W Paper, under the "Safelighting" section, it states color of safety illumination is yellow, yellow-green, amber or orange colors are recommended. Regarding its high sensitivity the processed material has to be exposed to such illumination only for the time necessary for its processing. Length of exposure and a distance of the processed material from the illumination source should be tested. If you are looking for an amber safelight, the Delta 1 Brightlab OC-Amber Jumbo Safelight (25 Watt), B&H # DESLJOC, would be recommended for your usage needs.
Q: 5. Can anyone venture to guess what toning was used for the image on the package of Bergger Prestige Variable CM Semi-Matte?

Q: 6. Hello, I am interested in sending this package of Ilford Multigrade Art 300 Paper (20 x 24 , 15 Sheets) to Colombia via your international shipping options.I am worried about xray during the flight affecting the paper.Do you think it will get damage or should I not worry about this?Thank you very much for your attention and I will be waiting for your response.Sincerely,Carlos Saavedra
A: Carlos, Xray does affect B&W photo paper. It does depend on the dose used though. A few years ago, Ilford found out about high-power X-rays via a Walkman printed on half a box of paper in a shipment! In the words of a spokesman, We were impressed. Also, all shippers reserve the right to Xray packages in and out of the US. They might do it routinely but the possibility exists. One option would be to mark the package with Photographic Material - please do not Xray and also discuss it with the shipper beforehand. I hope this helps.
Q: 7. What about fixing?
A: This paper fixes just like regular FB paper, about 2-5 minutes in Sprint.

A: This paper can be developed with traditional black and white darkroom chemistry for black and white prints.
Q: 9. Can the FB paper be used with a ferrotype heat source?
A: Yes, you are able to ferrotype this paper.
Q: 10. What kind of Chemistry do I need with this paper for best results for Art Show?
