I'm a firm believer in the idea that gear doesn't make you a better photographer, but gear certainly can make your photography experience more fun. And this lens did that for me. I found myse;of shooting more and shooting in old places in a completely new way. This has enough reach to really offer new possibilities, and it remains light enough to carry around easily. The limited (com pampered to more expensive lenses) aperatures don't limit things when paired with my EOS-R due to the camera's great performance across a wide range of ISOs. For the money, this thing rocks

Fast focus, sharp, extremely light weight. This lens punches way above its price class. Between the light weight and IS you can leave the tripod at home. As a bonus, close focusing capability is impressive.

I want a telephoto lens but don't want to spend a forture. Thus I decided to go with this one after carfully review. Great picture quality, combined with light weight, make this one a nice option for your tele needs. Also doing well with microphotography.

Amazing sharpness for such a lightweight lens. Far lens strain on my hands and arms from holding this waiting for birds. Very quick focus, little hunting, easy to move focal length. Might I saw Perfect?

So far, a good lens for a sunny and dry day. The slowness of the lens is not a handicap for wildlife.

Wow! For $560 on sale this lens is a sleeper. I bought it for its size and weight so I could pack a 100-400 in my backcountry camera backpack and it did not disappoint. The built-in IS is amazing for both photos (on R5) and video (on R5C). Actually, I was blown away at the performance on the R5C with Lens IS on. For video it is easy enough to set it at F/8 for a constant aperture zoom. Yes, it isn't fast and doesn't blow out the background but for video I like a bit of context in the shot so it didn't bother me.

Hands down, if you need a light, smaller telephoto zoom in your kit this is the one to get. For landscape photographers it is a real bargain. It is definitely way softer in the corners that the 100-500L but for 4x the price is the corner sharpness that much of a problem? Not really...

I use the Canon RF 100-400mm lens for wildlife, nature and even some landscape photography whenever I can not get close enough to the subject to get the image I want. The lens has preformed flawlessly, the Canon RF 100-400mm lens has never let me down. The auto focus and the image stabilizer work very well. The lens is lightweight and produces outstanding images. All I all I love this lens!

I have a R7 camera and i think this is the one lens if i only had one to choose from. supper lens for sports and wildlife.The photos you see have not had lightroom or other photo touchup.
