A: It totally depends on what you are putting in the bottom!! Will it fit? Yes. Will it fit with your stuff depends on your gear. Example: I have a 7D and a Canon Gripped 7D in my case (along with a lot of other stuff). The 7D by itself, there is ample room above it to do the MBP. The gripped 7D however, I wouldnt risk a MBP in the lid over it. Especially when you close it and latch it.

A: Yes, I pack my 15 inch Mac Book Pro in the case with no problems. I also have removed all the foam padding except for the small bottom piece. This GREATLY increases the storage space for cameras, lenses, etc. I have had no problems with 20 plus airlines as I always bring this case on board the plane and store it in the overhead bin. I also like the fact that you can lock the case in hotel (with locks not provided but cheap) with a steal cable (also not provided) so valuable items are protected in the hotel room when you are not present.
