If you need to track, composite in 2d or 3d then Fusion is is only second to Nuke as far as the overall potential. But Nuke is bloated and slow by comparison plus it's true power lies in scripting. AE would be another software worth mentioning, that best represents the blend of VFX composting and editing all in one. It is layer based unlike the peers, which makes it cumbersome for large composites, and it's rather sluggish even with local storage, but it does everything.
