The yellobrik OBD 1510 E Ethernet to 1Gbit Fiber Bi-directional Transceiver Pair from Lynx Technik AG is a matched pair of compact Ethernet switches designed to extend the reach of electrical Ethernet signals over long distances. The two switches are linked via a single bi-directional fiber link, which operates at a constant 1Gb speed. 

This pair of modules uses WDM fiber technology in a closed loop arrangement and essentially functions as an Ethernet extender solution. The fiber link supports distances up to 6.2 mi (10km) and provides a single, high-speed 1Gb error-free optical connection between the two locations. 

Each OBD 1510 E module has two standard RJ-45 electrical Ethernet ports and the complete system functions as a 4-port Ethernet switch, providing two standard RJ-45 Ethernet ports at each location bridged with fiber. For legacy systems, each electrical Ethernet port can be set for automatic speed detection (10/100/1000 Mb/s) or forced to 10Mb. Each port uses auto crossover detection or can be forced manually if needed. These functions are available using the dip switch.

Q: 2. Will this fit snug on a 70-200mm ring and not slip at all?

A: The ridge at the rear of the quick release plate of the Really Right Stuff B9 Multiuse Bi-Directional Plate (B&H# REB9PLATE) may make it difficult or impossible to fit on the feet of some feet that are attached to the tripod ring of a 70-200mm lens. To be clear, it is designed to attach to that foot rather than to the ring itself. A: The ART CLEANBoxPro does not convert Line level to Mic level, so it would not be suitable for connecting the monitor outputs of an interface to the mic input of a switcher. However, its 3.5mm output could be used in conjunction with an attenuator cable such as BH #WHH4NL3.5 for this purpose.

A: One would think so. The Benro IN00 Single Action Ball Head is supposed to be Arca Type compatible. The Benro IN00 Single Action Ball Head has a screw lock rather than a quick connect, which should remove the major risk of incompatibility.

A: No, the ART CLEANBoxPro Bi-Directional Level Matching Converter is not a preamp, and will not properly amplify a mic signal coming from a 3.5mm cable.

A: My assumption is that it would need to be a direct connection. I have not tried it on a vlan. Based on the information on their site, it would need to be directly connected, as it seems to encode the signal and send it over the copper to be decoded at the other end by the receiver.

Q: 8. Does this plate fit the DBA-1 60mm QR clamp? Does it fit other arca-swiss compatible base clamps?

A: Yes, the Desmond Bi-Directional plate will fit the Desmond 60mm QR clamp, as it is an Arca-type plate. This will work with any Arca-Swiss compatible clamps.
