The Monoball P1+ with ClicPan and Classic Receiver from Arca-Swiss is a tripod head made for large cameras and long focal length lenses. It has a large ball to ensure a high capacity while maintaining fluid movements. It has a slotted opening that allows the head to tilt 90° to quickly and easily change from a horizontal to a vertical camera orientation.

The new Monoball p1+ has improved friction control, providing more control over heavier loads up to 66 lb, and less tension with lighter loads. The sensitivity threshold can be set by turning the knurled wheel and stored by turning the friction wheel

The top of the Monoball p1+ has a ClicPan panning platform that can be either freely panned or panned in preset selectable steps. It has a range of 360° and a precision scale for accurate and repeatable results. The top of the head features a classic quick release receiver with a tightening knob.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long is the rail?

Q: 2. what is the size (length) of the manual QR clamp that comes with this ball head (Z1 Sp)?

A: It's approximately 50mm.

Q: 3. Will this ball head pair with the Fesiol CT3442 and allow the legs to reverse 180? Also, is it compatible with RRS L brackets and plates?

A: Although I can't compare this head with another model, it is compatible with L brackets and is an awesome head. The engineering is fantastic, what one would expect from a Swiss manufacturer. It has greatly improved the quality of my macro photography and is one of the best equipment investments I have made.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with a Manfrotto BeFree Carbon fibre tripod? and what camera plate should I get with this for a Canon 7D mark II and Canon 5D mark III?

A: One of the fortunate things in the world of photography regarding tripods with removable heads, they are held on by universal 3/8 screw studs. Therefore, this superb ball head will mount on the Manfrotto BeFree without issue. As to camera plates, we recommend L- Brackets as the wiser choice. This allows you to move the camera 90 without moving the ball head position. This saves a lot of unnecessary repositioning work. We suggest these affordable L Brackets. Other options include those by Really Right Stuff and Kirk. For the 7D Mark II, Sunwayfoto PCL-7DIIR L Bracket for Canon 7D Mark II DSLR B&H # SUPCL7DIIR. For the 5D Mark III, Sunwayfoto PCL-5DIIIR L Bracket for Canon 5D Mark III DSLR B&H # SUPCL5DIIIR.

Q: 5. What does "monoball fix receiver" mean? Would be nice if the jargon was interpreted back to standard vocabulary.

A: The Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ with Quick Set Pan and Monoball Fix Receiver uses a different type of Arca-Swiss plate than the standard one that most use. Here is a link to the standard Arca-Swiss plate option: https://bhpho.to/2Wpncv4.

Q: 6. Could you tell me please what's the difference between this head and Z1 ? Thanks

A: Compared to B&H #ARZ1DPQSP, which is the Monoball Z1, the Z1g+ has Dual 360 Panning Axes. It is also slightly taller at 5.3 compared to 4.7 on the Z1.

Q: 7. Can this separately control the axis' as the Monoball Z2+?

A: There are separate locks for both panning axes on the Arca-Swiss Monoball Classic Z1g+ Ball Head, so you would be able to control the panning axes on the ball head independently from one another.

Q: 8. Is this the new Z1+ model or the old Z1? The PN (801103) is identical.

A: There are many Z1 models. The one you listed is the current model for the Z1 SP.The Z1G+ is a newer model but is different.

Q: 9. what is the diameter of the top part? The circle the clamp its on

A: According to the manufacturer, the base that holds the quick release clamp on the Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ would measure 2.95 inches.

Q: 10. Is it strong enough for use this with Sigma S 150-600mm ?

A: This tripod head has a load capacity of 130 pounds, which is much more than capable of withstanding a 150-600mm lens.
