The 86mm SQ100 Circular Polarizer from Hoya is made to fit inside the Sq100 Filter Holder and can be easily rotated to control light reflections and color saturation. With its large diameter of 86mm, the polarizer filter won't cause any vignetting with most lenses. HOYA's special water repellent multi-coating is applied to the polarizer's optical glass, making cleaning easy and stress-free.

The polarizer adopts a high transparency polarizing film that translates to nearly 1/2 stop more light entering the lens, compared to other polarizer products. Even with the reduces loss of light transmission, it still yields the same full polarization effect, which is advantageous for shooting in low light conditions.

To use the polarizer, simply screw it into the geared adapter and attach the geared adapter to the lens. Attach the HOYA Sq100 holder to the geared adapter so that the geared wheel comes into the contact with the drive gear of the geared adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can a lens hood be attached & removed without taking off the filter first? Specifically referring to the 77 for a Canon 100-500

A: Yes, you can attach and remove a lens hood without any hinderance while the Hoya 77mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer Filter is attached.

Q: 2. Is this 46 mm filter compatible with the 800mm PF lens Z Mount?

A: No, the Hoya 46mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer Filter will not work with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens. That lens can only use the Nikon C-PL460 Slip-In Circular Polarizer, BH #NICPL460 (https://bhpho.to/3HdDhfm).

Q: 3. Is this non-coated filter really worth $93.90 when there are so many other options out there?

A: The quality of the glass and the coatings of this filter are superior to many lower cost filters, if you have an expensive lens and or good optical quality, yes it is worth it.

Q: 4. Why is this lens more than twice as expensive as "Hoya 67mm HRT Circular Polarizer UV Filter" ? The other one has a UV filter too, while this does not. Is there a difference in quality or something else that I am missing in this lens that makes it so expensive ? Just trying to see which one I should buy for my Nikkor 18-300 mm lens. Thanks.

A: The more expensive filter offers two key features the other does not. Anti-Reflective and Hydrophobic Multicoated

Q: 5. I do NOT want a slim profile filter. I am only interested in a 67mm CP filter. Is this a slim profile filter? thanks

A: The Hoya 67mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer Filter is not a wide filter. It is a thin frame filter. This one is considered more of a standard frame, BH #BWCPB67 (https://bhpho.to/3WTjKsY).

Q: 6. Can this filter be used with a Canon Powershot SX420 IS ?

A: Unfortunately, the SX420 IS lacks a filter thread, therefore it cannot work with this filter.

Q: 7. Will i be able to use this filter with my Canon EF 16-35mm F/4L IS USM ultra wide angle lens and will my auto focus still work with it? Sorry but I'm a true amateur. Thanks

A: If your lens takes a 77m yes you can use this filter and you should not get any issue with the AF using a CPL with a wide angle lens. I have read that you get autofocus and underexpose issues when you use a linear polariser. However I haven't experienced this since i don't use linear polarisers.

Q: 8. Does this filter fit the Nikon 500mm f/4 insert?

A: It does not. You will need B&H # NICPL405 which is the filter specifically designed for the drop in on that lens. https://bhpho.to/2X7oHNp

Q: 9. would it work with other filters???

A: Yes, this filter can stack onto other filters. You will want to mount the Cir/Pol filter last, so you can utilize the polarization effect.

Q: 10. Does this filter work on the Sony RX 10 iii?

A: Yes it will.
