The Telos One units were broadcast, very high quality devices, they adjusted the quality of analog audio, based on the POTS ("Plain Old Telephone Service") telephone line being used for that exact call. Currently, the telephone lines are often digital lines or sometimes a combination of analog and digital and often are carried over internet service providers.
