Durably built product. Great Price.

You are able to securely hold it via slots in the back.

The clapper arm snaps into place after use. The fulcrum joint is firmly built ensuring no front to back movement.

The labeled slate sections are printed on the backside of the writing surface so as not to rub off or fade.

I specifically bought the Cavision Next-Gen Production Slate with Color Clapper Sticks (European Style, Color) for the scene, shot, and take sections. The black and white Cavision has the same sections.

I could not find another slate that has those.

Since I am my own judge, jury, and executioner, the shot section just seems to help me out with my shot list organizing.

Highly recommend.

It works great magnifying a tiny Serial Number or the tiny print stamped on little electronic components. The light really makes a difference in being able to read the tiny tiny micro-print through the magnifier.

Very robust and very professional piece of equipment. But it can get very heavy wearing it around your neck for a long time. I'm still extremely satisfied.

This Director's Viewfinder from Cavision is an amazing tool. It's built like a tank, you can feel the build quality when you hold it in your hands and use it. It's a rotating Viewfinder, meaning it doesn't telescope externally (it always stays the same size regardless of the settings). It works with basically every size of camera sensor or film-stock, and you can make a custom mark if your camera's sensor size doesn't quite line up with one of the pre-marked settings. It has an adjustable diopter so you can get a very clear image based on your eyesight and where you like to hold it.

I also own the Cavision Micro Viewfinder, and while that one is great too, this one just feels and functions superbly. If you're on the fence about which one to buy, I would recommend this one. You won't be disappointed and it's worth the extra money both for the quality construction and the versatility. It's big enough that it's comfortable for someone with larger hands and fingers, but small enough to wear around your neck on set or during a location scout. Cavision has definitely nailed the Director's Viewfinder in both build quality and price point. Everyone talks about the Alan Gordon Vb, but I think this is just as good at nearly half the price. You will not be disappointed, trust me.

I use this slate for Film, the only disadvantage of it are the instructions which are somewhat very strict and to the point fo telling you a certain button is for this use, but does not explain the reasons you ll need that option., When you close the slate you do not geet that hivh pitch metal to metal clap as there is no metal in it. is easy to wipe and keep it clean, the light is super bright
