Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you safely use a 2x teleconverter with extension tubes(all Canon original)? Just curious!

A: Extension tubes will fit the 2x converter but how well they work would be unknown. The tube)s) would need to be mounted to the camera, then the 2x converter, and then the compatible lens. Automatic functions such as AF and auto exposure might be lost too.

Q: 2. Can it do pass-through charging? (i.e., is this fully functional while also plugged in to charge at the same time?)

A: No, the Ambient Recording ACN-CL Lockit Compact Wireless Timecode Synchronizer when plugged in will receive power but will not actively charge also. To charge, it will need to be powered in the off state.

Q: 3. Will this fit Nikon rangefinder lenses as well?

A: Whether related to patents, differing initial engineering decisions, or by mistake, the rangefinder coupling of the Nikon-S lens mount was slightly different than that of the Contax-RF. The result is that the wide angle Nikon-S lenses, because of their wider depth of field, can interchange between the two types of bodies, but the standard and telephoto lenses cannot. The the Kipon adapter will work with your wider Nikon lenses but not anything above 50mm.

Q: 4. Can I use this extender with the Canon RF 100-400 F5.6-8 IS USM lens?

A: Yes, you can use the Canon Extender RF 1.4x with the Canon RF 100-400mm lens.

Q: 5. Will this device accept an SDI signal as a genlock input, broadcast this over ACN, and output a wordclock referenced to it? I see lots of discussion of genlock output, but not input. I have a camera without genlock, and I want to avoid pops when combining HDMI + AES - SDI. Therefore I want to synchronize the audio ADC to the un-genlockable camera.

A: no this device will not work as a genlock for a camera without genlock, it's base/fundamental mode of synchronization is time code

Q: 6. for virtual production volumes, can the device be synchronized to an evertz 5700 and then run standalone as a timecode and genlock generator on camera? also maintaining genlock that would normally come from evertz?

A: With the LTC output of the Evertz 5700, you can sync the Ambient Recording ACN-CL Lockit Compact Wireless Timecode Synchronizer in TX mode. As a TX master, the Lockit will adapt to the speed of the LTC signal, and it will regenerate and broadcast the time code and sync to all of the following ACN units. For virtual productions, I would recommend using the Lockit+ (B&H # AMACNLPE) as the TX master as it gives you more insights about the current sync status in its web interface.

Q: 7. a recommended distribution amplifier that share TC and genlock with one cable please?

A: A recommended distribution amplifier that could share TC and genlock with one cable on the Ambient Recording ACN-CL Lockit Compact Wireless Timecode Synchronizer would be the AJA C10DA Analog BNC 1x6 Distribution Amplifier, B&H # AJC10DA.

Q: 8. What are the dimensions?

A: This is a single space rack unit that measures 480 x 45 x 250 mm.

Q: 9. Does this Distro4 model feature the cascade ports to daisy chain multiple units together?

A: Yes. You can link up to four units.

Q: 10. Does this unit come with the RG8 cables and power breakout connector like the bundle with the DFin?

A: The RF Venue Distro9 HDR Multi-Zone Antenna Distribution System does not ship with the RG8 cables and the power breakout connector; the only cable included with the unit is the standard IEC power cord.
