Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens be used with Speedboosters (EF to MFT .71)?

A: Using the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF-Mounts, Blue Flare) with the EF mount and speed booster is possible but performance is not guaranteed.

Q: 2. Can I use a PL to L converter without issues? I’m asking because I need an L mount one, but it’s on back order.

A: It would be recommended to go with the L mount version of the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 35mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF Mount) due to the protrusion of the rear of the PL version of this lens which may not be compatible with certain PL to L mount adapters on L mount cameras.

Q: 3. How much does it weigh?

A: According to Tokino, the the lens is expected to way under 2kg (7/19/21). Tokino will be publishing this information in the near future.

Q: 4. will this lenses work on a lumix GH5 coupled to a PL to MFT adapter and what aspect ratio is obtained in open gate without crop?

A: Using the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 35 & 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic 2-Lens Kit with PL to MFT will not alter the aspect ratio of open gate on the Panasonic Lumix GH5.

Q: 5. weight pls?

A: The Tokina 25-75mm T2.9 Lens (PL Mount) weighs 2kg.

Q: 6. Will this work with a metabones speed booster? (EF-E Mount)

A: The Tokina 25-75mm Cinema Zoom Lens will work with a Metabones Speed Boaster.

Q: 7. Works Covering Sony fx6 sensor?

A: no it does not. This lens's sensor coverage is larger than super 35mm but smaller than Full Frame. It is ideal for cameras like Red Komodo (which has a slightly larger than Super35mm sensor) and is only compatible with Full Frame Cameras like the FX9 when using the crop mode. Therefore we do not recommend this lens for the FX6 as it will not cover the camera's Full Frame Sensor.

Q: 8. Has anyone used any filters on this yet? Wondering if the ring would show in the image.

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 85mm supports 82mm screw on filters, and we expect thin filters would not block the view of this lens.

Q: 9. How much does this lens weigh?

A: 4.4lbs/2kg

Q: 10. will this fit a Sony a7siii?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF-Mounts, Amber Flare) would not mount on a Sony a7S III Mirrorless Camera. For the E mount version, you would need the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (E-Mount, Amber Flare), BH #BL502918EA.

For the price, the build quality is excellent. Can take sharp photos with good bokeh. A little difficult to get focus accurate since its manual and my fuji-xa1 only has focus peaking to help. Recommended buy for people short on cash

It is hard to find good quality brand new prime lens for less than $300 these days. This lens is what you were looking for if you are photographer on budget. This lens is made by Korean optic maker Samyang, same lens is sold by Vivitar and Bower but they are essentially the same lens, but this one from Rokinon is cheaper for some reason. The construction is solid and you can use auto exposure as lens has A-position. Also this lens while it is fast (f 1.4), is not that heavy. The lens hood is flimsy compared with my Zeiss 50mm's hood which is made of metal (well think about the price of this lens). After test shot, I extended hood using plastic sheet as original hood is not long enough for APS-sensor camera. Filter thread is made of plastic. You do not want to change filter often with this lens, but most likely most users will shoot without any filters or with protective filter attached all the time. Optics is very nice, sharp if you focus correctly, color rendition is good as well.

I use this lens mainly for video so I don't mind not having auto focus. If you plan to use for photography think long and hard whether you can do without AF. I would not recommend to wedding and event photographers. With that said the image quality is great!!!

For videographers this lens is a godsend. It has very high quality glass and the build is pretty rugged.

Let me start off by saying that this is one of the sharpest lens I seen, and with my sony a77 is the perfect companion and for the price there is nothing better than this lens.

Bought this lens based upon the great many positive reviews it has received. Not disappointed with it in the least. Shot 9 gig of photos and video with it the first time out. Worked just as well as all the reviews said it did. Had no problems acclimating to it. The only way it could be improved would be to have a metal barrel. But that would boost the cost up considerably. This lens cannot be beaten for the price.

This is a big piece of glass and is very bright and clear (see the DXOMark analysis, which is partly why I bought.) Only minor quibble is you can't remove the included hood when the lens cap is on...

I'm not a professional. I loved the 6d and 85L. One if not the best 85mm lens in the world. I'm trying out sony and was looking for a cheaper option. This will do the job for about 6-7 times less the price of the canon. Build quality. Bokeh. Image quality. More than good enough and I am happy with the savings. I've sold off the 6D and 85L. Will use this on Sony a7 and nex6. Because of focus peaking from sony manual focus is a breeze. Try it.

I bought this lens for 60D and it's very zoomed in-- a video I watched on Youtube said that because this lens is for a full sensor, camera bodies like 60D or 7D (that isn't a full sensor) will produce a zoom that is about double the original distance. In this case it's about 135mm-150mm. I'm going to play with the lens for a little more and decide whether I should keep it or not. I'm thinking, if I'm focusing on an actor's face from the distance but don't want them to feel intimidated by the closeness of the camera, this lens will be perfect. Even more, if I ever do upgrade to a canon mark series, this lens will work beautifully. If you do not own APS-C or a crop-censor body and plan on filming, this lens would be your first bet! Even if you own 60D like me, it may prove to you (I'm hoping this will to me over this weekend's shoot), it's worth having around a 135-150mm prime zoom lens. The lens is absolutely beautiful in its build and image quality. Amazingly large aperture! I love the way the focus ring moves.
