Genuine Canon lens hood fits perfectly and can be put on reversed for storage when not needed. 5

After reading reviews on 3rd party lens hoods, I decided to pay a bit more and get the genuine Canon. I'm glad I did - it fits well, is easy to put on and remove and stores in reverse right on the camera. I can still put the lens cover on if I wish with the hood installed in either direction. I ordered a third party lens hood for my 18-55mm and it fits, but is a little more difficult to put on and take off than the Canon hood for the Canon 75-300mm lens. The Canon lens hood is light weight, yet feels durable. 5
