This beige CO-3-Kit from Point Source Audio is an entry-level headset microphone with a 4-pin mini XLR connector for MiPro wireless transmitters. It is designed for speech reinforcement in presentations, church liturgy, lecturing, and other applications where the speaker requires a hands-free microphone solution.

The kit features an omnidirectional microphone in a low-profile headset that is worn on the left ear. A reversible dual-ear mic clip is included that provides more secure positioning, if desired, and allows the mic to be worn on the left or the right ear. The omnidirectional polar pattern offers a forgiving 360 degree pickup pattern. The fixed-boom design reduces speech-popping sounds and voice overloads by conveniently placing the mic near the mouth and keeping the capsule away from potential clothing and fabric noise. The kit also includes a storage case, cable clip, and 6 windscreens for the CO-3 microphone.

The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern makes the headset easy to wear and is well suited for use low to moderate noise environments.

A rigid boom with a fixed length offers a sturdy, unobtrusive, and low-profile design. This makes the mic and headset barely noticeable, especially from a distance.

This version CO-3-Kit features a 4-pin mini XLR connector for MiPro wireless microphones.

Q: 9. Would this mic also be acceptable to clip on an on-camera interview subject? Others in this $ range seem to only be omni mics.

A: A hypercardioid lavalier such as the Countryman Isomax 2 would not be a typical choice for dialogue, because the tight polar pattern can result in dropouts if the subject turns their head or otherwise shifts in position. For this reason, omnidirectional or cardioid lavaliers would usually be preferred.

Q: 10. Are these ear perices bendable, if so how much can you bend them?

A: The era piece is solid and will not bend. Te microphone "stem" has some play but should be bent very gently and not often.

First Sunday with new pastor on regular clip to collar microphone, people had hard time hearing him. Next Sunday with Headworn microphone and he was loud and clear. These mics are great.

OMG!!! these are awesome!!!Just received mine today and tested in our auditorium. Now, they are very very hot compared to the standard issue Shure lapel mics! so make sure to turn down the volume on the receiver to a very low setting, then fire up the transmitter, I did not turn the volume down and got extremely strong feedback :-). They cost less than $$so probably not as durable, and might not be good for recording solutions, but for conference/auditorium speaking these are crisp and clear, and very comfortable too. Yay, no more losing audio level when the speaker turns his/her head anymore, just consistent, crisp, level sound from now on :-)

This mic was purchased for use in a regular worship setting. The pastor has a high-end Countryman mic of a similar style, but worship assistants were using lav mics clipped to their robes. Performance was inconsistent with the lav mics, but we didn't want to spend the extra money on additional Countryman mics unless we had to. This mic is performing as well as the Countryman. Sound is crisp and clear (spoken word and some singing), the mic is comfortable to wear, and it was fully compatible with our Shure beltpacks. We haven't had the mic long enough to assess durability, and I'm a little concerned that because everything is permanently connected together (you can replace components--you have to replace the whole unit). But, at the price point, that really isn't that big an issue.

We ordered the head set to replace a lavelier mic. We had a lot of problems with ringing and feedback. The headset eliminated these problems and is much much easier to control.
