Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the 3.5mm connector right angle?Or is it a regular one?I'm asking this because the mic plug is on the right side of my recorder. Thanks

A: This is a straight cable and connector.

Q: 2. Can this mic connect to Rode Wireless Filmmaker Transmitter?

A: This mic is designed for Sennheiser transmitters only.

Q: 3. will this work with the zoom f1 without plug in power?

A: This will not work. The Zoom F1 requires a mini locking connection that has been wired the same way as a Sennheiser lavalier. This Countryman EMW will work for the Zoom F1. B&H # COMEMWFBSR .

Q: 4. Could these be used on a Sennhesier G3 Lav?

A: That particular version will not, it is wired for Sony. This is the one that will work with your G3 system: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/294615-REG/Countryman_MEMWF05BSR_EMW_Omnidirectional_Lavalier_Microphone.html

Q: 5. Any opinions on the Shelved versus Peak frequency response? Do you find this version works okay behind clothes? Most of what I do will be behind clothes, but not always a lot of clothes. I don't want to buy a mic for every situation. In your opinions is it better to record with shelved and add EQ to the high-end later (if needed) or to record peaked and pull back EQ if needed?

A: Countryman describes the difference as follows: "Shelved for normal lavalier use, peaked for use behind clothing." Based on what you wrote you may be better off getting the peaked - as "most" is behind clothes - and you can always EQ back when used in situations where it is not under clothing. It is easier to take out frequencies, than adding missing frequencies. I hope this helps

Q: 6. Is this a single ear or double ear headset?

A: Countryman ISOMAX Headsets feature a dual ear headband.

Q: 7. what is the length of the cable?

A: Great mic, but really short cable length. Which I didn't even think to check before buying. Maybe 2 or 2.5 feet? Definitely get a longer XLR cord to go with it.

Q: 8. Will this mic work with my Sennheiser EW100 G2 and G4?

A: Not really, Instead look at item# MEMWPFF05BSR, or search for Countryman EMW Sennheiser

Q: 9. How do identify the active side of the Countryman EMW mic?

A: Although the Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone has an omnidirectional pickup pattern, the most active side of the microphone is the "grille" side, which is shown facing outward in product images.

Q: 10. How long is the cable?

A: Cable length is about 5 feet.
