Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be attached to a "K&M 260 Straight Microphone Stand (Black)"?

A: On the K&M 260 straight stand, removing the pole extension fromn the base would allow the boom to be inserted into the 260.

Q: 2. Does it come with a 5/8"-27 male threaded end for a microphone clip or an adapter for that?

A: No, the Impact Boom Arm would have a 5/8" stud for lighting. To allow for a microphone to fit, you can use the CAMVATE 5/8" Light Stand Head with 5/8"-27 Screw for Microphone Clip Stand, BH # CAC2950. http://bit.ly/3AlsoVd

Q: 3. Can these be mounted to the ceiling?

A: Absolutely.... that's where mine is mounted. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is not an air cushioned item so if you are not supporting it fully it will just drop. I love mine and love having it on the ceiling.

Q: 4. Load capacity is listed at 22 lbs. Is this for fully retracted or fully extended?

A: On the Neewer UA016 Baby 5/8" Offset Arm, the load capacity of 22 lbs. is intended to reflect the fully extended position of this Offset Arm. This is the most stressful point in the Offset Arms construction so care should be taken not to exceed this load capacity.

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the pin that slots into the clamping base?

A: The manufacturer has not specified diameter of the stem that fits into the C-clamp base for the 512 AUDIO 512-BBA Microphone Boom Arm.

Q: 6. I understand that the boom itself has 2 connectors (3/8" & 5/8"). However, what is the thread for mounting the clamp assembly itself? is the "short tube" that is pictured "faded out" at the bottom included? How does this mount onto anything?

A: The manufacturer listing for the K&M 21431 Mini Boom Arm only mentions "wing nut" clamping. The vertical pole pictured in this product image is not included with the boom arm. Given that this arm is meant for mounting onto mic stands, which standardly have a 5/8" thread, it can be presumed that the wing nut hardware included likely adapts to 5/8" threads in some manner.

Q: 7. Will this hold a Canon 5D Mk IV, and if so, is a camera mount of some sort needed, or can the camera mount directly to this as is?

A: The Manfrotto 098B Wall Mounting Boom Arm, Black - 47.2-82.6" (1.2-2.1m) has a maximum load capacity of 9.92 lb (4.5 kg) at maximum extension. It will depend on the combined weight of your Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera (Body Only), which weighs 1.76 lb (800 g), and the lens you will be using on the camera body. I would recommend purchasing a ball head adapter such as the Impact LS-BHA Baby Ball Head Adapter, B&H # IMLSBHA, along with a ball head such as the Ulanzi U-80L Side Cold Shoe Mount Ball Head with Arca-Type Quick Release, B&H # ULU80L.

Q: 8. Can this hold a 21" LED flapjack light (about 7-8lbs), say mounted as overhead/straight-down for table shooting? (via SuperClamp attached to table, then Avenger grip-head to angle this pole 45º, then LED light pointed down towards table) Also, same question, but for mounting a Sony A7iii camera/lens setup (about 1400gram or 3lbs setup) for overhead/straight-down shooting on table?(via SuperClamp attached to table, then Avenger grip-head to angle this pole 45º, then small ballhead, then camera/lens setup pointed down towards table)

A: This arm has a 2lb load capacity.

Q: 9. what is the distance from the center of the baby pin to the center of the light stand pole clamping mechanism?

A: Regarding the Neewer UA038 Baby 5/8" Offset Arm, the distance from the center of the baby pin to the center of the light stand pole is 17.5 inches.

Q: 10. Could I attach this to an impact air cushioned light stand?

A: The Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand would not be sturdy enough for the Neewer Microphone Boompole Mounting Adapter and Holder with a boom pole and a mic attached. It will more than likely tip over. I recommend a C-stand (like B&H # IMLSCT40M) and two or three sandbags (like B&H # IMSBFB15).
