We for our video production company (LMV Productions) use several of these and some 12tb ones . We do live music production and up to 7 cameras. Shooting ProRes HQ it uses a fair amount of space . We need a lot of storage. At present we have well over a 100 tb of space used up . We’ve been using these for 7 years without any issues. We have shows on our YouTube channel (Small Batch Sessions) dating back to 2017 using WD storage. There have never been an issue in any way . Buy and use with confidence. I have had very good luckj with Western Digital Elements Desktop External Hard Drives. I recommend them if you do not need a portable drive. This one met my expectations. 5

I bought this drive because one of my 2 backup drives died. This WD drive has done 2 backups since I received it. Compared to my other 2 backup drives, this WD 16TB drive is very fast. It takes only a little over 2 hours to backup my files compared to the roughly 12 to 15 hours my other backup drives would take to do the same job. The only thing that worried me about concerning the WB 16TB drive was the complaint I read by one reviewer about the noise it made. I found this WD drive to be no noisier than my other drives of which I have six( 4 internal drives and 2 external backup drives). So I would tell other potential buyers of this drive to ignore the noise complaint about this drive. 5

You can put firmware on the enclosure so that it works with drives other than the original. Pretty reliable specials. 5

Great deal for the storage space. I use them as my primary music storage and for back up. If you have precious irreplaceable files, you should maintain at least one, if not two, backups 5

I thought when I bought a 6 TB Hard Drive a few years ago I would be good for a 5-10 years. With a 100 megapixel camera now I am chewing up drive space fast. Even with culling unnecessary images and backing up to the cloud, I still like having more storage on the desktop. This will be my third WD drive. I like that the technology has not changed much from the other drives. As a photograph, reliability matters most to me. With this drive I now have 34 TB of external drive space. on 5 drives. Should be good for a while. I really am happy with this drive! Highly recommended! 5
