Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this surface compare with Ilford Gold Fiber Silk? Thanks

A: Both surfaces are similar in sheen and texture. The Metallic Satin paper yields the kind of stunning results that previously could only be achieved in the darkroom. Featuring a high-gloss surface thats compatible with dye-based and pigment-based inks, Metallic Satin creates prints that are sharp, vibrant, and exceptionally rich looking, The Gold Fiber Silk will yield slightly less vibrant results.

Q: 2. Is this paper for photography?

A: Yes

Q: 3. Is permanent adhesive??

A: Inkpress Media Adhesive Luster Paper is not rated with a removable adhesive.

Q: 4. Does anyone know the archival life of this paper?

A: Display Permanence ratings on this paper using pigment inks and framed under glass with 20% UV exposure can last around 110 years. Framed under glass filtered with UV protection can last 200 years. Album/Dark storage rating at 73 degrees and constant 50% RH (relative humidity) can last 300 years.

Q: 5. I use to buy this paper but the company started shrink wrapping it so tight that the paper would bow after several attempts at discussing the issue with the manufacturer I gave up. It has been two years and I am wondering if the paper is still overly shrink wrapped, that the paper is bowed and stays that way?

A: Yes, it is still shrink wrapped, but it seems hit or miss whether it's too tight or not. The first thing I do when I get it is take the plastic off completely. It seems to relax eventually, or you can put it flat and set something heavy on it...?

Q: 6. Where can I find an ICC profile for this paper? I cannot find it on the manufacturer's website. I have an Epson SureColor P800.

A: I get really good results when I choose Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Matte (with my Epson Artisan 1430). I haven't found a need for an ICC profile.

Q: 7. I am looking for a good paper to print my original art so that I can sign and number them---not sure what paper is best for that, and I want it to have a light gloss---don't know whether to use simi gloss, luster or satin finish(I like to sign in pencil.THanks in advance for your help!Joe

A: This is an excellent paper for fine art printing. It is archival and has a beautiful pearl/satin finish.

Q: 8. Hi! I was wondering if anyone has used this photo paper with the HP office jet 4652? Is it compatable? Thanks!

A: I have used with it with an HP office jet, but not the 4652 and it worked great. I use it all the time to print my scrapbook pages and also have printed photos on it. Works great.

Q: 9. Does this paper work with Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printer?

A: Yes it is compatible with the Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printer.

Q: 10. I noticed in the reviews someone mentioned they used this for greeting cards- is it double sided? I'm having a hard time finding a metallic/pearl double sided 5x7 stock.

A: No, it is not double sided. And we do not have any other brands that are double sided in a metallic surface. The person in the review might of printed text on the other side but it is a trial and error method. It is not coated so the ink might not stick on that side and can on many printers smear.

I have used this paper for quite some time. I use it for black and white prints and find that this paper gives me the tonality that is very pleasing. I have tried other papers, but this one works the best for me.

Inkpress Metallic paper doesn't need to download ICC for Canon printers, just use Canon Glossy II. I used this paper with a Canon Pro 1000 and the results are great; I noticed that this paper has a slight texture, which helps with the very fine details. This paper works great for my needs.

I photograph loads of city and landscapes and printed them using this paper. I remembered using a metallic paper on a large format printer in school and craved that glimmer and some once more. I am VERY pleased with the results as my larger photos were printed on aluminum and these prints replicate that look to the T. I only really work in black and white with a wide range of grays, blacks, and whites, but each tone is enhanced by the metallic satin.
