Very nice portable softbox, but the instructions don't do it justice. All the photos and videos show the flash, which projects a rectangular beam, oriented across the short dimension of the box. This puts a hot spot across the middle and very little light at the ends - not the result you want. They also don't tell you that you can rotate the box on the bracket to align the wider part of the flash beam with the wider side of the softbox, so that the ends of the box are properly illuminated. Use the WA diffuser panel on your flash to spread the beam, and you are done. The deflector doesn't help. It casts a shadow on the front fabric, giving you more light at the ends than the middle. Without the deflector, the light is nice and even.

Great little strip box for hair light, accent side light etc especially when on location or for quick setups. Very easy set up and take down. Comes in zippered carry bag with straps. I also bought the inner plate deflector to soften light, this also fits in the carry bag with the box and diffusion material.

I just got my stip box and octabox today. The compact size when folded up and stored in their cases is amazing. Setup is fast and easy and I can't wait to try them outdoors. they should be great for travel as I am about to find out. The diffuser panel attaches easily with only two small Velcro patches in the middle of the long sides and a wrap-around fit over the edge of the box. It secures well and looks like it will stay in breezy conditions. I too wish the reflector was included as I ordered it at the same time, but found that it was out of stock and I won't get it before my trip.

If you are doing a lot more up close photos, this work just fine, but light fall off is significant if you are doing full body shots. I need a longer one.

Love this as a more compact option than a 48 softbox. When I need a soft light to tuck above the frame or to add a backlight, this a great option. Very easy to deploy. I use it with Aputure COB lights.

Had hesitated to get this. Already had the Westcott Luna Grip and RapidBox Octa 26, but wanted a dedicated software box for rim/hair light. This works great for that. Also can be used for a head shot when brought in close. Got it on Halloween, attached portrait from just playing around with it to scary effect (scored 88/100 in a PPA competition).

This softbox is pretty versatile: it can be fairly soft with the included diffusers (e.g. as fill or clamshell), but it can also be pretty direct if you're looking some good rim lighting (especially if you pick up a grid to go with it). I personally love the Westcott products and this modifier is an essential piece in my collection.
